A woman has been taken to hospital after she was attacked by a monkey in Queensland.

She is believed to have been working on the set of a major movie production when the animal bit her on the head.

According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, the woman, aged in her 50s, was working on the set of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie at Movie World on the Gold Coast when she was bitten on the ear.

She has been transported to Allamanda Hospital for treatment.

  • Richard changed the title to Woman attacked by monkey at Movie World studios

For the love of god.... why can't people put a link to the original source article?

Gotta love Sky News Australia - claiming the incident occurred in the 'theme park' despite referring to the filming location... apparently 'in the park'. Clearly it's an animal on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yahoo7 is a little less inflammatory and a little more factual. I'm assuming this is the article Cooper has quoted above...

Surprisingly this article which doesn't appear to be a reputable news source appears to be the best and most factual:

The award for mainstream factual reporting goes to ABC with this VERY detailed account - revealing whilst it may have been a 'Pirates' Monkey, it wasn't on the Pirates set - but another set also being shot at the studios... I'll give props to the first outlet that actually correctly identifies the incident location as 'Village Roadshow Studios' (I'm pretty sure that's what it is called unless it's changed recently...?)

We all know how good the UK Sky News arm reports after the Smiler incident - so it's not surprising in the slightest for them to just say 'at Theme Park'. nice one Sky News UK
