In some cases - forever.

  • Fire Eyes
  • Cantilevered fire roof
  • Mack's refurbishment of the Scenic Railway

I'm sure there are others i'm forgetting. Cue other long term members replying with their own suggestions...

Having your source misunderstand which side of the carpark a new coaster will be put...

I did see them pull the trains apart and I'm with Alexb.  It’s normally practice for the parks to send the parts out to get them refurbished.  The wheel system was still sitting in the park the other day and I believe idiot facebook page had a photo of it.

Side note idiot facebook did not say new trains he said new seats.

Yeah I wasn't sure if they were new trains, and I know he isn't the most reliable source, but was just stating what TPSN posted with the photo.

I never rode the ride when it was LW, so has the ride run two trains at times before? I can't ever remember seeing a switch track for AA that would allow this to happen.

it's been said before, but basically LW ran two trains - a blue, and a red train. The switch track is behind the station between the brake run and the load platform. Next time you ride, look left and back as you roll through to the station (or check it out from the queue) and you'll see a separate section of track leading into the maintenance bay.

As LW got on in years, and train bits became harder to get \ expensive, the park 'cobbled together' a single train from the red and blue trains, which we came to call the 'purple' train (being both red and blue). In it's later years, LW ran only one train (purple).

When the new 'train' was installed as part of the Arkham re-theme, the existing hardware - bogeys etc were kept, and only the seats were changed. So the rolling stock on-track is still the same 'purple' stock previously part of LW. For them to go back to two-train operation, they would have to invest in an entirely new train - rolling stock and all, which would cost more than it did to install the Kumbak seats.

Surprised that he didn't decide that since there are two pairs of wheel systems there must be two trains.

When I went to Movie World a few weeks ago they had the train that was in operation on the track (obviously) and a whole set of wheel bogies long enough for a whole train sitting on the transfer track. As my phone was in the all day locker I wasn't able to get a photo of it but for people that know who I am would know that i'm not exactly someone who's going to make this stuff up.

I'd say they likely were waiting on a SLC to shut down to buy the old trains to refit them like they did with the current  Arkham train. T2 at SFKK anyone? That originally had 3 trains and it's now only reported to have 1x 7 car train so perhaps they brought the other 2 off them at a cheap price to make a 2nd carriage?

@Spottyare you saying that a full train and a half built train was on track at the same time? (sorry I'm a bit slow & I don't mean the half train was moving around on track)  I believe what you are saying.  I can only see enough wheels for one train in the photos.

I think we need a 2016 Movie World topic like the DW one.  But as @AlexBpointed out I am too lazy to create.
