It does seem like it is being built to allow for some sort of flat backing, most likely with a western theme. Of course, the (city) side walls will not be western themed unless they add something extra to them.

found out late last night that there's someone close to our family who is working on the ride and the arena as he's part of building industry, he has said it's going to be amazing once it's finished,

I will try and see if they can get a photo inside the construction site and some closeup photos of the ride :D

Now that looks promising! I'm hoping for a huge Doomsday to be crushing the roof of that with his hands, would look awesome!

This is looking like a really promising addition to the park. I'm becoming super excited for this area. It's great to see money spent on themeing again, as well as a quality ride. @themagician I think they will leave it open and you'll be able to enter/exit from both sides of the slab/new building.
