It does seem like it is being built to allow for some sort of flat backing, most likely with a western theme. Of course, the (city) side walls will not be western themed unless they add something extra to them.

Hasn't there been activity at different parks on both days of the weekend before?

Don't think so. I went to both parks (MW & DW) over the weekend and saw no activity on either day. Both lots were empty of workers. Pretty sure it has been the case on previous visits too.

I'm fairly certain we will see theming on the back of the new framework - they won't be raising the old wall though I don't think...

found out late last night that there's someone close to our family who is working on the ride and the arena as he's part of building industry, he has said it's going to be amazing once it's finished,

I will try and see if they can get a photo inside the construction site and some closeup photos of the ride

I popped in this arvo too, first thing I noticed was the cool bent steel effect going up around the back of the control booth of DD....

Now that looks promising! I'm hoping for a huge Doomsday to be crushing the roof of that with his hands, would look awesome!

Does anybody have suggestions over what the new slab will be? My first thought was queuehouse, but it seems a bit far away from the ride, and the structure looks like it's going to house something...

I too thought it we going to be for the queue, but now seeing that wider shot, and the theming behind the control room seems like the place for it. I agree @xRazzBerryx, that would be pretty cool.

Do people think that the enterance to the area will be from the left (near the SDSC exit is) and the facades will carry all the way around, so once in the area you don't get an hints of the WW area, or they'll leave it open and you enter the area either side of that slab?

This is looking like a really promising addition to the park. I'm becoming super excited for this area. It's great to see money spent on themeing again, as well as a quality ride. @themagician I think they will leave it open and you'll be able to enter/exit from both sides of the slab/new building.

deff a shop which you will exit into which they are hoping you'll buy their crap on the way out like SM, GL, WW and SDSC

Really don't believe it will be a shop, given we currently have DC merch available in 5 other locations, including 2 specialised stores.
