YAY for cables!

i spent many days when i was younger honing my skiing skills at Penrith Cables (cheaper than putting the boat in the river for the day) - I do hope they're successful - can't wait to give them a spin and see how they compare.

And here's a map. That's movie world to the right of the picture, and the green marker is the wake park property. looks like they have the potential to have several lakes open - so fast \ slow, maybe others too. the small lake is about the size of the FOH areas (including ride footprints) of MW itself... the perimeter of the lake on nearmap (yes its still the same september date as the previously posted pictures of MW) is about 1.4km around.

Tthe big one is over three times that size, with a lakeshore permeter of about 3kms!!!

Very excited for this!! Like you, @AlexB I learnt to ski on Cables, it was an option at my High School to go to Cable Ski World in Runaway bay on our sports days.. Oddly enough, so was a trip out to WnW come to think of it!

It's hard work on your upper arms and to anyone out there who has experienced Cable Skiing and found themselves passing outside the buoys at the turning points while still hanging on, well, you would likely know of the nasty surprises that follow!!

Many years have passed since. Still, I would love to give this a go again

Very keen, remember so good crash outs at Cables on a couple of school excursions, and a friend copping a tow bar to the face..

for those interested, the land just to the left and above the green marker in Alex's photo was used as a movie set for Thor 3 at the end of last year. Was home to the 'junkyard' which apparently plays a pivotal location in the film

UPDATE

"Things inside and out are coming along nicely. Sadly we will miss our projected opening date of #australiaday but never fear we will be shredding together as soon."

Less drinking and more working might have helped get it open on time.:)
