So cruel! :)

Tickets are expensive. Younger kids (given the 8 year timeframe given) probably wouldn't be happy to sit in a seat for the entire performance, and potentially ruin it for other guests as well. I'm sure you'd be the first to complain if some parent brought a kid who was running up and down in front of you while you tried to watch.

I personally wouldn't take my kid to something like this until probably close to or once they've reached high school.

I'm keen to see this show. Most of the previous incarnations have appeared to be 'not too different' to the last - sure, a different story, an upgrade here and there, but still fairly similar. this show looks very different and i'm very keen to see it.

It's interesting they've got a named cast. Mark Mitchell must be about a thousand years old by now but seems like the perfect choice for the character - i wonder if they do have understudies, or if these guys are gonna be doing this every day of the year...

This is at the end of Mark Mitchell’s bio:

The Producers of Australian Outback Spectacular's Heartland cannot guarantee the appearance of any artist, which is always subject to illness and leave arrangements. The role of Bazza will be performed by Mark Mitchell for the majority of shows however due to the requirements of the role of Bazza, two performances per week will be played by a different actor.

From now on, I'll put a note at the end of my posts if I'm being sarcastic or making a joke, just for you.

I didn't think you knew what sarcasm was. But now i'm confused, as you ended your post with 'sarcastic joke' does that mean your post about ending your post with sarcastic joke was just a sarcastic joke?

You're always so bloody serious and whiny about everything, so please forgive me for not being aware you had a sense of humor.

Right then.

I'm in a generous mood today, so consider yourself forgiven, just this once.

I got it, if it's any consolation. 😁

As AlexB said, 1x 7yr old (who talks too much and too loudly) and 1x 15 month old (who can't sit still).

That's pretty ironic coming from the lad who was so serious when Dreamworld's i-Ride was nearly named after a porn-star. 😉

New website looks solid - have heard about what's to come and i'll be eager to see how polished it is come December. The lack of bluey in the new show will be sorely missed.

Not ironic at all. first, one has nothing to do with the other, and second, i didn't take issue with the name, only how Parkz went about noting it (and also because i couldn't generate the same results - which turned out to be a matter of screen size, which I then conceded). #dogwithabone #letitgoelsa

Finally, hardly a 'lad' - you young whippersnapper...  ;)

This is a standard clause for all live performances, I don’t see the issue?

This looks like an incredible new show.

Ive never seen a AOS show before, but I really do want to see this one

You've really been missing out,  but yes you should definitely go see Heartland!

By the way, if you're an RACQ member and you book by Googling "RACQ Australian Outback Spectacular", adult tickets are $108 most days!

I think part of it is that the signwriting on the roof has the AOS logo off-centre, and without the sponsor's logo on the right hand side it looks unbalanced. in the absence of a major naming sponsor, putting the VRL logo fills the space and keeps the signage balanced.

I understand that, but I'm a bit puzzled why there's no naming sponsor now. Doesn't bother me though.

Disney used to have a bad habit of just closing attractions or gutting them if a new sponsor didn't come along to pay for the upgrades. Village had enough money for the upgrades without having to engage a sponsor. If a sponsor came on board, cool, if not, they are still able to open the attraction.

Curious side question, and probably worthy of a new topic but i'll let a mod judge that.

What are people's thoughts on the show's longevity? Yes, I realise they've just launched a new show with all new technology etc etc - but there's only so many Lee Kernaghan songs, Bruce Rowland compositions, blue singlets and Akubra hats you can use in a show before people start to see it as the same old thing. Horses enter. Whips crack. other animals enter. aussie ocker lingo. amazing panoramas across the screen. spin around homestead. mustering vehicles (chopper, quad bikes), stagecoach and similar.

Ok - now i've upset a few people - let me clarify - I think the show, and the concept are amazing. I've seen several variants (although not as many as pushbutton) and I very much appreciate the show for the story it tells and the message it gives. What i'm saying is - how many times can they do a 'story of life in the outback' without the overall concept becoming stale...

...and - what could replace it when it's time comes?
