What's the advantage of leaving the washers or nuts on?

May as well be ready for install.

None of these things are strange if you're familiar with this kind of construction. Same as painting the bolts. You wouldn't paint a thread before you secure the nuts. You're just going to take the paint off and also cause more grief when placing the nuts.

Getting ready for the next stage yes is normal.  Mowing over the parts not normal.

I don't know what you are saying about the thread not being painted because it is.  You would never leave exposed steel on site.

If you want to find a case this area was not protected correctly, next time you go to MW have a look at the GL tie-down rods.  Every washer is on its way out already.

It don't matter anymore.  Footings are in and have put everybody asleep talking about them.

I of course meant painted their cosmetic colour (i.e. To give away the theming).

You knew what I meant, but thanks for the lesson.

@Cactus_Matt, do you mean this quote in last Thursday's Gold Coast Bulletin article about MW's current & future projects?:

Quote

A Village Roadshow spokesman yesterday said the company “looked forward to making an announcement soon”.

By the way @Smeg, I figured out that you are counting down to your predicted announcement date.

December 30 image on https://www.terraserver.com/ should be the same as it is today - albeit with less grass. :P

It looks like the turnaround near Top Golf could be an overbanked turn as opposed to a dive loop or immelmann. It looks like just before this turn, the in and out parts twist over each other?

Nice @themagician thanks.

@Glubbo i think you're on the money for the crossover, and the bracing \ support layout does look like an overbanked turn - the spacing between what i'll call the main and bracing footings gets wider at the point where more force would hit the track during the turnaround.

Sorry if this is unclear or confusing, but looking at the photos of the site, I couldn't help feeling that a helix similar to the one ending Goliath at Walibi holland fits perfectly in the space that has been cleared.

I also looked closer at the footers seen clearly and could kind of make out the shape of a helix?

Sorry YLFATEEKS if this post is weird and confusing.

Here's my take on the final section / station / lift hill.

The green is the break run. The red is the station. The blue is the lift hill. This came to me as I was riding Batwing & saw the footers in a straight line where I have positioned the station. You can also see this in @reanimated35's post.

I recommend having a look next time if you ride the south side on Batwing.

Why do you assume it is Aquaman?

If it's because they are about to start filming the movie at the studios, I don't think that has any affect on the ride. The ride will have being planned for years now and the theme and name would've been approved by DC and the park a while ago too, and that would then affect the rides colouring and train. The film was only confirmed to be filmed on the coast last year, well after I imagine the decisions were made for the coaster.

Im not ruling out Aquaman as a theme (despite I'm doubtful it would be that and I'm leaning towards Flash), but I don't think any film or tv productions would have an affect on a ride like this.

I'm hoping it's nothing to do with DC comics and they actually theme it around a Warner brothers movie. Kinda getting repetitive with all the DC themed rides in the park now

I'd prefer repetitiveness over taking a page out of Dreamworld's book and mixing themes.

@reanimated35 thanks for the overhead.

Need a second opinion people, but are the two sets of footings I have circled the same layout?

I was wondering if this could be for a cobra roll or something similar at the bottom of the first drop?

Or are my old eyes playing tricks on me yet again....
