themagician 3,400 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 Seems today there have been a lot of new changes implemented at MW. Some just minor, but some quite big changes, and I hear there are more to come Firstly, the two that have already been shared: 1hr Free Superman locker hire And the new Fast Track including DC Rivals Next, all DC Villains Unleashed elements are now FREE. They are no longer selling the wristbands and instead have attached two at every station. Which meant when I visited there were people throughout the whole area interacting with them (And there were staff assisting people too) Lex Luther has returned And the signs which advertised the bands have been replaced There was also this new character in Main Street. Anyone know who she is? And the Great Gatsby have returned, with a drive up and down Main Street, and then a performance also ' Couple of other things: - You no longer exit through the turnstiles, instead through the gate on the far right (as you are leaving) - No more Credit Card Charges - And there are staff roaming throughout the park with iPads receiving feedback from guests. I imagine this could all be due to the new CEO and is listening to what guests are saying.
joz 2,276 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 We've been calling for it for a long time, I'm delighted with the changes. It will price out the people who don't spend money anyway so the parks won't be so busy, and for those that do pay they get a better park. Double thumbs up from me, lets see how this goes!
pushbutton 972 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 I have one of those wristbands but it rarely works. 3 times I've exchanged it for another but no difference. Hopefully now it's free the problem is solved.
Johnny 23 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 With roaming staff to assist, that should cause less problems if one of the wristbands stops working.
GoGoBoy 326 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) Amazing news. A theme park that listens to guest feedback and does everything possible to maximise the customer experience... a recipe for total success. PS Long live non-discounted theme park tickets. May it lead to much capital expenditure. Edited November 29, 2017 by GoGoBoy
westical 528 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) Credit Card fee always annoyed me, even though it wasn’t too excessive. Glad to see that one gone. Conversely I wasn’t too phased by the locker fee, but with everything going cashless making sure I had coins on hand was proving harder and harder. So another win there. Looks like my wristband is going in the drawer. Don’t get me started on that Fast Track price though... Edited November 29, 2017 by westical
Santa07 1,021 Report post Posted November 29, 2017 That fast track price is insane, but completely worth what you get. The wristbands attached to the machines look a little tacky, but it’s a lot easier for the park than changing the system to work without the wristbands. Luke 213 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 1 hour ago, Skeeta said: Fast Track price is tops. I hope the increased price for fast track = a decline in purchases, and thus overall queue lengths will be shorter.
AlexB 4,313 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 ^thats how a fast track should be... unless it's free for all the way Disney manages it - it should be sufficiently priced that only those who REALLY want to use it will. i dropped over $300 on platinum flash passes at SFMM because we went on a saturday, and it was our only day there. That's how these sorts of products should be managed.
Skeeta 2,736 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 I think the balancing of Fast Track is very important for any park and MW has been failing with it for a while. If the passes are oversold than the people that payed the extra quickly get pissed off and it defeats the purpose of a Fast Track. On a few occasions at Fright Nights the Fast Track queue outgrew the general queue. Also if you sitting in the general queue and it never moves but you keep seeing people loaded from the Fast Track you get angry too.
aaronm 80 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 Surprising they aren't doing some kind of variable pricing with fast track - i.e. first 50 are $79, next 100 are $99... and so on. Otherwise at $149 I doubt they'll be selling more than a handful most days outside of school holidays (although you'll always get the odd group that have more money than sense). AlexB 4,313 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 Which is precisely the way it should be, and therefore, completely not a surprise.
Skeeta 2,736 Report post Posted November 30, 2017 43 minutes ago, aaronm said: I doubt they'll be selling more than a handful most days outside of school holidays. Which is what makes the Fast Track worth more. With the decline in sales means the holder of the Fast Track has less people in their queue, giving that Fast Track holder more rides during the day. The old system was out of control because if you went during the crazy times the only way you could get all the rides in was to buy a Fast Track. I'm sure this was great for MW bottom line but customers were leaving feeling ripped off because they only got to ride a few rides all day.

He lifted the "lid" and opened the side of the post he was on, and just walked away. He did this in front of a large group watching him, which included kids. Kind of spoilt the illusion a bit. Would have preferred if they shifted the whole post with him still on it. Maybe on a sack truck or similar. Alternatively, he could have at least waited 5 more minutes until most of those watching left. New Christmas show at Rosy Theatre. About time, but very good. I'd love to see a new long term show replace the Looney Tunes one after Christmas. Batmobile with smoke effects next to the coffee shop. themagician 3,400 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 Good to see a Christmas 4D show on, but I love the Looney Tunes one they currently have. It’s my favourite one they’ve had ever since Shrek. It’s the only one I’ve gone back to see multiple times, and hope it returns. If not, a new Looney Tunes in 4D would be great
pushbutton 972 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) Another small new bit of detailing outside the photo shop. There are two of these "expired" parking meters. Edited December 1, 2017 by pushbutton
themagician 3,400 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 It’s details like these that take MW to the next level. I know it’s just parking meters, but it’s these small details that add to the parks feel and theming, and add to the ‘magic’

themagician 3,400 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 While MW are fixing/changing things; they should open up the AA alley, so it can be accessed from SDSC. Make movement through the park so much better
