During the week, Outback Splash posted that survey markers have gone up for their 2019 expansion.

I visited there, this rainy afternoon. They were playing computer simulated POVs of the new waterslides in the cafe. Despite the temperature being in the mid to low 20s people were still taking advantage of the water playground.

The park has cleared away the scaffolding that was there during the summer and it looks like ground clearing is well underway. There’s new road access around the back of the hedge maze for construction vehicles.

Another visit to Outback Splash, today. It was 30 degree weather with moderate crowds enjoying a splash on the slides. The large inflatable slide has been moved from the back right of the water playgrounds to the back left. It seems that the ground works are going in close to the previous position, close to the work sheds nearby.

The most surprising news is that the emus have moved in with the kangaroos and the whole back half of their paddock has gone. It has been expanded to include more of the pine tree area near the hedge maze. It seems they’re getting ready for the construction of their brand new entrance way. Despite its very Aussie theming, I think it will make the place feel more like a theme park. Exciting times...

Had a nice lunch at The Maze, this afternoon. There were a few people enjoying WA Day and the lovely winter weather.

There’s always some construction work going on, even today. It looks like they’re trying to piece the slides together like a large jigsaw.

I’m also including a shot of a piece of theming I forgot to include last time.

The trench Tim and I saw on the other side of the park has been filled in with shrubs and retic for a berm covering and a new fence has been added.

The weather in Perth is pretty lousy, this weekend, but I did manage to get to Outback Splash for a couple of hours. Not a lot has happened with the slides. Someone has been playing around with the different parts, assembling them over the grass, although a lot are out of view. It appears some concrete has been poured for the slide footings/footers. A fence and or trees have been removed from the front of the park. A couple of piles of bricks have appeared near the west side, and there’s 50% off merch - bonus!

@Tim Dasco and I returned to the park, today. We had been planning a visit, but the park did a construction update on Friday showing the slide tower had gone vertical.

Other changes we noticed included: a new season pass holder entryway, the doors have changed location on the Iguana Cafe and a fence has been removed around the back of the park which actually allows us better vision of the construction(that was nice).

They have a Lego Hunt on at the moment, and we discovered zero bricks. The park was empty when we arrived there just after 10 and was quite busy by lunchtime.

Unlike some gates in Perth, construction continues at Outback Splash. The staircase is progressing nicely on the Polin Waterpark’s slide tower. The park is looking nice; although the original water playground could do with a repaint. The Outback Snack’s kiosk now has a verandah. There’s a $5 mega sale of the park’s merchandise too.

@Tim Dasco and I did visit Outback Splash last weekend. The staircase up the new slide tower is pretty much complete. The roof has been finished on the ground next to the tower, awaiting a crane to lift it to the top. The structure is being readied for all of the different ride elements and different pieces of tube have been attached together on the ground.

Painting on the old water playground has started (with a vibrant red in the process of being applied to the handrails and other parts. The Iguana Cafe is now The Burger Bar, replete with theming and signage. The season pass entrance now has a gate and a roof. There’s been a bit of painting of handrails out the front too.

Lots happening at the park still. It has been rebranded to Perth’s Outback Splash. The base of the slides seem to be in place on the new tower and the stairs and structure are close to complete(although still no roof). The slides are due to open November 20.

The old slides in the water playground are getting a new coat and are looking the better for it. The main gate has been replaced and is waiting for new signage. There are crazy character graphics inside the main cafe.

Ordered my new season pass the other day. The early bird special is $89 until the end of this week when it goes up to nearly $100. Whilst it gives you 10% off food, the cunning geniuses at OS have now made the pass only 7 months long. God knows what you’re supposed to do next winter.

Is it just me or do those photos seem over processed / saturation turned up max? Otherwise looks cool.

Nope they aren’t, @iwerks is a great photographer and he does a great job, he takes these photos on his camera and uploads them while at the park. Plus these new slides are really shiny and the sun was shining bright.

As much as I hate to say this, I think @AlexB is right. My previous camera was very realistic in colour compared to my Olympus cameras. It’s like the difference between Kodak and Fuji. It suits my purposes.

Having said that the new slides were glistening in the sun that day. They look great.
