It would be hard though, it's not just one or two guys, its whole teams of technicians, electricians from EMIS  etc doing actual physical work. I don't think you can do that with a zoom meeting.

This morning I was invited out to Dreamworld to get a sneak peek of Steel Taipan and a walk through of the entire area. I’ll start out by saying, overall they’ve done a good job with the area. It’s ve

I think it would be impossible.

What manufacturer is going to want to sign off a ride where the customer has commissioned and tested it themselves.

Would Worksafe issue a certificate if that was the process?

I think they're gonna have to wait, but happy to hear suggestions on how the process might work.

I’ve never seen sections of track arrive on site 18 months in advance for any previous installations at our parks.

the delay in park opening won’t have a major bearing on the construction timeline, as construction can and will go ahead even with the park closed.

The thing is both Ardent Leisure and Village Roadshow have halted all capital expenditure. With that halted we might see stuff arrive. But construction most likely won’t start for a while.

That is true, depends if there was a down payment made/how much to the whoever won the tender prior to covid closures

You just said it would be hard! Now you're saying impossible!

I'm not suggesting the customer commissions the ride themselves, i'm suggesting locals with presumably similar complex plant and machinery commissioning experience may be able to perform certain tasks under direction and\or in collaboration with Mack teams remotely.

Pretty sure I already said that.

3 more containers have arrived

If they have honey chicken, sweet and sour pork and a special fried rice in them, then it’s my dinner from last night that UberEats “lost”....

In other breaking and related news- Dreamworld have announced a new swing ride to finally replace Wipeout. It should be installed by Boxing Day...Check out the video of it below!!!

The capacity is pretty low, but I could see it wroking.

Due to capital expenditure being on hold and no construction timeline in place, more parts already in transit will arrive, but the rest of the track will be staying in Germany for the time being with no plans at the moment to ship the remainder EDIT *until construction ready to proceed. *

Interesting.......Source?

Seems strange they would halt the deliveries from Germany.. they may as well just receive it all and have it on site ready for when they can start. With a roughly 30 day sea voyager, plus port time etc, to me it’s weird that you’d leave half your build on the other side of the planet if you’ve paid for it.

When Rivals was being built, containers would arrive, be unpacked, and constructed, and then more parts would arrive.

By all photos, a significant block of Dreamworld's carpark is already fenced off to house parts that have arrived, or will already be in transit.

Until such time as they commence construction (and assuming the ones that have arrived would have been the first ones constructed), holding back some of the last pieces until they know when construction will commence is probably a smart move - otherwise, they could well end up with the entire carpark filled with coaster parts...

Remember, as far as we know, the footings haven't been drilled yet, and the collars are still in the carpark, so we're a ways off vertical construction yet - maybe that 30 day voyage time isn't such a big deal right now...
