Death of female polar bear Liya at SeaWorld

Sea World polar bear Liya has died aged 19, was the mother of 2 year old Mishka.

was also mother of Henry.

Is this the end of breeding polar bears on the Gold Coast as polar bears female reach sexual maturity around 6 and the males at sea world both 16/17 years old.

I don’t think polar bears are particularly ageist... 

if the males are still alive I’m sure they’ll give Mishka a run in a few years when she’s ready...
