  1. 1. Do you think Dreamworld proofreads their maps?

    • Yes, they take their time
    • No, they couldn’t care less
    • Yes, but they rush it
    • No, but they ask Village Roadshow to proofread it

Since some of us are stuck in quarantine, so here is something interesting. I was looking through some park maps of Dreamworld and I stumbled across the map from November/December of last year. I then found a truckload of mistakes on the map that sometimes is hard to believe that Dreamworld would literally miss it. I wonder how many people got confused over the park map since it was peak time. Fortunately most of these mistakes has been fixed. This list is also most likely incomplete so I will add if I discover more.

These rides are moderate thrill rides not mild.

I have noticed mistakes on them before, but never looked at it in detail and wow that’s a lot of mistakes. While they should definitely fix all those mistakes, most of them aren’t that major for general day guests to notice or they won’t majorly effect someone’s day

I have always wondered why they show the Giant Drop on Main Street, but listed under Rocky Hollow (which it is actually a part of)

I did say most of them had been fixed. This was just a flashback to last year.

It's a lot easier to update the image of the map and reupload it to the website than to order 100,000 more maps.
If you want to be technical, it would be even easier again to just get it right the first time... but we all know Dreamworld are still working on that whole "getting it right the first time" thing

Also who thinks the sword swing is a mild kids ride. I mean that thing is faster and more thrilling than Gingys Glider and yet that is classified as moderate family ride.

That’s probably because of the 77kg weight limit which means a lot of people can’t ride it. I personally haven’t been able to ride since I was 14-15 I don’t remember exactly but I ride Gingy’s with no problem.

So here is all the current mistakes that I have identified on Dreamworld’s map. Most of them are only minor however but still should be fixed. There still might be some mistakes that I have missed. Some of these mistakes were on the Nov/Dec 2019 map but I missed them and didn’t add them on the previous posts.

Tower of Terrors point and shop (3/H) still remains half a year after its closure.....😕

A little formatting error and The Giant Drop is still part of Main Street.

Tail Spin has a height limit of 200cm... maybe Dreamworld wants to give tall people false hope of going on any thrill rides. Hot Wheels has a g force of 3? and Kickback Cove is an experience for every Instagrammar.

There is no goldrush. While we're at it, what makes "Rocky Hollow" a Rocky Hollow doesn't really exist either. I also don't see you complaining about MDMC in the same main street colour scheme either.

See, some of these are mistakes, and really basic, stupid ones. Some are nitpicks, and some are just 'what else do you want them to do?'

I'd suggest that these maps were probably rushed through when certain rides were removed, because it was viewed as better to have an error prone map than to have a whole bunch of closed rides still listed on the accurate one.

And there was probably plans to have a fresh new one debut with the new coaster, so why spend a lot having someone fix up the old map when the whole park is going to look different in a few months...
