Phoenix Review

A solid ride, and a texbook example of a well designed wooden coaster. It lacks the modern envelope pushing design, but still, it's impressive how good coasters designed prior to 1950 can be.

Review Criteria

Good

Enjoyment

Great fun. Starts off with a couple of big drops and turns, and concludes with four quick airtime hills in a row.
Good

Effectiveness

A popular ride that appeals to everyone. Thrilling for thrillseekers, but good for adventurous families too.
High

Intensity

Heaps of airtime on the final part.
Good

Rider Comfort

Ran quite well for an older ride.
Good

Pacing

Keeps a brisk pace throughout, owing to a fairly large first drop and the rest of the hills being a bit lower.
Average

Upkeep/Presentation

An older ride. Nothing visibly damaged, but like most of Knoebels, it still looks old.
Great

Queue/Efficiency

Perfect score here. No airgates, buzz bars, and the train spending 20-30 seconds max in the station.
