The Parkz Update: Dreamworld, December 2010

Dreamworld's Summer Funomenon is just around the corner, as we stop in to check the progress.

 Tower of Terror 2

Here's a few more pics of TOT2 that we didn't get last time round.
The queue features a few screens in wooden and perspex boxes which show your typical tecnical mumbo jumbo.
This is how the station has been redone for those of you wondering.
The pod dropping back into the tunnel.

Main Street

Imax is closed, for conversion to Spongebob Squarepants 3D.
The water feature is drained for works too.
Heading towards Ocean Parade, this branch of Main Street has had a few concrete footings pop up, presumably for a Movie World style roof.
And from another angle.
Getting sick of footings yet?
Well, we're done now anyway...
The ride seems to be under permanent maintenance.

Back of the park

Heading over the Rocky Hollow bridge, we spotted this sign explaining Q4U...Rest assured, Q4U is not queue jumping!  Also contrary to reality, guests without the system don't queue for longer!
Farmyard Friends has closed, so the sign has been patched up, so now it's effectivley an advert for the Wiggles.
Wiggles Farmyard Friends has been replaced by the Dreamworld Woolshed, for the new Australian Sheep Shearing Show.
The new show is mooted for a December 27th opening.

Marketplace

Heading for the exit, there is a new outlet selling a "dairy free, fat free" frozen dessert....Perhaps similar to the famous Dole Whip sold at Disney parks.
Like Movie World, Dreamworld have begun selling Ben & Jerry's ice cream, though it's a freezer with prepacked tubs rather than a full blown 'scoop store'.
