The Parkz Update: Foundations continue to appear for Movie World's 2017 roller coaster

It's a while yet before we can make any real sense of the mess of footings that will eventually connect with the roller coaster's hundreds of support columns, but construction progresses on Warner Bros. Movie World's 2017 roller coaster.

The roller coaster is still yet to be formally announced but there's huge amounts of work between now and an expected opening in late 2017. Only two things we know for certain: it's being built by Germany's Mack Rides, and Village Roadshow, owners of Movie World, have hinted that it'll be world-class.

More and more footings are completed ahead of vertical construction of the roller coaster.
But many more footings still are yet to be placed as evidenced by the amount of steel reinforcing still on site.
Six particularly large footings at various stages of completion.
Well that's one way to deal with an existing conduit that passes through the location of a footing – simply go straight through the foundations.
Some of the footings are appearing very close to the swamp. Their relatively low height indicates that if this does become the planned lake area, then it'll be cleared and dug down to form a body of water rather than built up as a dam.
Lots more footings to go.
Drilling and concreting continues towards Wet'n'Wild.
Everyone's favourite ditch... and roller coaster construction site.
We know what you're asking: but where do the construction crew park? The answer is here, right near the really creepy caravan in the background.
Said creepy caravan. Perhaps the plans for a hotel in the area are less impressive than we'd hoped, or they're workshopping ideas for Fright Nights 2017?
Along the road into Movie World, construction starts to work its way closer towards the park.
The blue spraypainted X on the ground is the location to drill piles for footings. In the background we can see that clearing is underway for what would be the logical station area for a roller coaster given its ease of access from within Movie World.
Drilling is underway.
Either holes for piles covered for safety, or confirmation of rabbit trap theming for Elmer Fudd: The Ride, a world-class Wacky Worm kid's coaster opening at Movie World in 2017.
