The all new entrance building brings modern architecture to Scenic World. Making use of largely natural materials such as rock and wood and some subtle lighting, the entrance really fits in with Scenic World's setting.
Work is underway on the far side of the gorge for the far anchors and mechanisms where the car will turn around back to Scenic World.
Advertisements throughout the new main building are leaving the new ride as anything but a mystery.
The old Scenic Skyway car sits out the front. Gone, but certainly not forgotten, I'm sure there will be a permanent home for this piece of the park's history once the replacement Skyway opens.
Kanook and Ping Ping, February 2001.
Kanook. 1984-2004.
An overview of Jamberoo from the charlift.
On Surf Hill up to eight individuals can race to the finishline at the bottom.
Wet Races is best described as water go karts.
Billabong Beach was meant to open December 1, but by the looks of things it still hasn't opened.
Accessing the bobsled in only possible via the charlift.
The ride finishes in the Billabong Bay area of the park.
Surf Hill however is unique in that it uses the terrain rather than supports.
An identical ride is seen at Wet'n'Wild Water World on the Gold Coast.
Up to two riders per boat race around the lake against other boats.
Hopefully, given time, the gardens surrounding the ride will grow in creating quite a pleasant looking ride.
Like Wet'n'Wild Water World's Calypso Beach, Billabong Beach will be a slow meandering river which guests drift gently down on tubes.
An overview of the construction site for the 2004 thrill ride.
An overview of the new drop. You can see a nearby log which was used to test the new drop.
