Lassiter's Lost Mine

Sea World (QLD, AU)

Open Date: 1988
Close Date: April 1993
Current Status: Operated
Riders take a boat ride into a flooded mine shaft. Effects include a runaway mine cart, falling barrels and an audioamimatronic cow.
Replaced by Bermuda Triangle, which recycled the same ride system. Disney executives were amazed the ride had been built so cheap, claiming that an identical ride in the states would have cost at least $20 million. The ride was funded by the listing of the Seaworld property trust on the Australian Stock exchange.
