Very few coasters have the rider sitting over the exact centreline of the track. But here on Big Dipper you are, so it means the tight twists can be negotiated without excessive lateral g forces.

Overall, its a fun experience, not a wild level of intensity, making it suitable for Luna Parks core audience, but still exciting enough for thrill riders.

Perhaps the main bugbear of the ride is the rattle in the trains. Their lightweight nature means they can shake and rattle a bit. Reportedly the park and manufacturer are still fine tuning things, given the prototype nature of the ride. For the smoothest experience, sit in the front row.

It's extraordinary the effort the park went to squeeze in this ride.

Have a look at the employees hat left hanging on the end bumper. Gives you an idea of just how narrow the track gauge is.

It's unusual to be able to get this close of a look at a static train.

A second shorter brake run is used as block brake for when the ride is running two trains.

Drive tyres are used to bring the train to a stop.

The last turn passes REALLY close under the first turn. A thrilling finale.

The helix transitions into inversion #2, a corkscrew, with a nice bit of hangtime at the top.

You can see that the track really isn't single rail, but in fact three tubes welded together with plate (rather than the usual cross braces seen on other steel coasters. This creates track that is quite strong, and able to make long spans.
