It gives the wharf vibe of Shark Bay a decidedly tropical feel.
Disney called this kind of feature a 'weenie', a large structure visible throughout the theme park designed to drawn guests towards it.

Shark Bay seems to be more dominated by rays and fish than larger sharks these days .
The reef lagoon seems to have become dominated by the black-and-white Bicolor chromis.
