Loading of the ride takes place in the room of requirement. The benches move along continuously and guests board on a moving conveyor belt, with the benches attached to the end of robotic arms that run along a track through the building. However this robotic mechanism is hidden from view behind a wall in the loading station. The result is 4 minutes of being tossed and turned and flipped through a chaotic dark ride in a manner normal tracked rides cannot achieve.

The 'fat lady' portrait (portrayed by Dawn French) guards the entrance to the Gryffindor common room. Gryffindor is one of the 4 houses at Hogwarts, and the one Ron, Harry and Hermione belong to.

They warn you your visit to the castle will involve a 3 hour lecture on the history of Hogwarts. They however tell you that there is a quiddich match on, which will be far more interesting, and they plan on flying you there to see it!
