The park uses extensive high walls to really box in each themed area.

A volcano structure is going up in the background. Since the departure of Bermuda Triangle, and earlier, Blue Lagoon at Dreamworld, a volcano has been sorely lacking from the Gold Coast theme park lineup.

Lots of hand rockwork sculpting going on in the middle of the splash zone.

The are is quite big, featuring a mixture of mini volcanic vents and rocky structures.

The shade structures have a bit of a shanty look about them, with rough edges and patches.

The Parkway... inoffensive like a modern roadhouse. Why a theme park went ahead with this soulless corridor as the park's main exit is anyone's guess.

Dreamworld

The concept is great: some light entertainment to draw folks into the parlour, though in several years the playlist remains static (great for passholders!) and the sound system unimproved.

Dreamworld
Just chuck a new building right in front of an old one. This screams long-term vision.

Dreamworld
Every single attraction in the park is tired, broken or a combination of the two, yet the park focuses again and again on this sort of low-spend addition.

Dreamworld
We can be certain it'll be poorly executed, out of place and a totally misguided addition that does nothing to address Dreamworld's colossal shortcomings.

Dreamworld
A familiar site in Ocean Parade: construction hoardings. At least these are for something new.

Dreamworld
Meanwhile rotate 180 degrees and it's arguably the most pleasantly themed attraction on the Gold Coast.
