Stephen Gregg to take the reins

The current Tourism Queensland chief is set to take the position of Dreamworld CEO as of May 1.

Though not a coming from a strictly theme park background, Gregg will bring a wealth of valuable tourism and management skills to Dreamworld and Macquarie Leisure, enabling them to continue the successful growth that the current CEO has established over his four years with Dreamworld.

With the domestic market performing extremely well and the international market creeping back to what it once was, it is a great time for Dreamworld and other Gold Coast theme parks.

His first major attraction as CEO will be surfacing later this year, a thrill ride yet to be formally announced.

Tony Braxton-Smith, the current CEO saw the Big Brother franchise make Dreamworld home, the redevelopment of the wildlife section into the Australian Wildlife Experience, introduced Cyclone, initiated discussions with Nickelodeon and saw the unveiling of Nickelodeon Central, looked into the feasibility of modernising Thunderbolt and then watched the removal of the ride just a few months ago. His most recent notable efforts were late last year when the aforementioned thrill ride was purchased.
