New coaster for the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast, already Australia's coaster kingdom adds another to its arsenal.

Dracula's, a popular theatre restaurant appropriately themed to everything Transylvanian have recently disclosed that they are preparing to construct an new indoor roof-top roller coaster. The ride, whose specific details are yet to be released, is set to cost around $1 million, as a replacement for their current ghost train ride.

The coaster will be the second fully-enclosed ride on the Gold Coast. In 2002, Warner Bros. Movie World debuted Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, which also naturally has a dark, gothic theme for much of the ride.

Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant, which entertained over 100,000 guests last year, recently won the 2004 Telstra Queensland Small Business of the Year award. The Broadbeach-based attraction has been operating since 1987.
