Dreamworld's attendance for the nine months from mid-2007 are down around one per cent - or around 10,000 guests - on corresponding figures from the previous year. In the six months prior to this, the theme park's attendance was down on previous figures by two per cent - around 14,000 guests.

Dreamworld has seen only minor attractions in the past two years. 2006 was marked with the introduction of the $1 million FlowRider and a new children's ride.

Despite the decline in attendance, the theme park has delivered well with yet another increase in profits. Management have increased revenue by more than five per cent, off the back of a six per cent increase in per capita spending.

Two of the park's signature attractions, Eureka Mountain Mine Ride and the Vintage Cars are both currently closed for unrelated reasons. The Vintage Cars are expected to reopen later this year, while Eureka Mountain's closure is indefinite.

A new thrill ride is expected open at Dreamworld later this year.

In its first four months in operation, Dreamworld's new water park WhiteWater World has achieved revenue of $6 million, delivering $2.89 million in rent to owners Macquarie Leisure Trust.
