Tower of Terror II Overview
Uses LSM (linear synchronous motors) to launch the single shuttle along a straight launch track from 0-161km/h in seven seconds. The track then curves vertically, with the car travelling upwards till it loses momentum and freefalls down backwards and returns to the station.
Tower of Terror was the fastest ride in the world when it debuted.Shares the "Dreamworld Tower" with Giant Drop. Features 6.5 seconds of weightlessness or "airtime".
In 2010 its car was replaced with a new backwards-facing model, reducing capacity from 15 to 14 and introducing OTSR restraints. The launch track was enclosed in a tunnel with lighting and sound effects. The ride was rebranded as Tower of Terror II.
