Unlike the construction system, sitting on the studs won't attach you to the boat.
Many 'self drive' attractions at theme parks restrict guests to a course set by a guide rail, here though there is a lot of freedom, allowing guests to freely steer, bump and overtake.
Boating school is a guest favourite. As the name suggests guests can pilot low powered, lego themed boats through a course.
On a normal water slide you'd land in a pool or a runout chute, but here you skid to a halt on some astroturf.
The rafts have a bottom, so you don't need swimmers, but you still get fairly wet on this one.
The two courses are slightly different, but  of equal length.
On the Extreme Team Challenge, two pairs of guests race in rafts down water slides.
The theming on Pirate Falls is well finished and integrated, compared to the nearby Vikings River Splash.
Apart from the final splashdown, much of the ride is hidden from view.
Pirate falls is the parks flume ride.
At the end of the course a conveyor brings you back to station level.
A wave generator on one of the turns tosses your raft around a bit.
