Spring loaded arms absorb some of the force when you are flung around the ends.
Made by W.F. Mangels co.
It's another well preserved classic.
But it's a great bit of silly fun, and a sense of anticipation each time you approach the pulleys.
It looks unassuming from a distance.
This whiplash (not really) inducing ride is basically cars running around a couple of pulleys.
Auto Race Garage
Tranquil paddle boats in the middle of the park.
Thunderbolt is a real surprise for first time riders.
The ride was actually modified from its original design with a track extension.
The ride is designated as an ACE coasters classic, which means it retains a number of traditional wooden coaster features not seen on more modern wooden coasters.
A turn leads to one last out and back section next to the one at the start.
After those crazy turns is a set of brakes.
Essentially the track loops around here twice, with unbanked turns at ground level, creating some intense lateral forces (And a squished fellow rider in the outside seat)
The ride runs with a rule of two riders per row, and with good reason....
Top of the lift hill and the drop.
Emerging from the first section, there's the lift hill, and the main part of the ride in view of guests.
The first part is similar to Jack Rabbit, with a drop and turnaround down a valley, but with some cool interaction with Phantom's Revenge.
