New Name for Sea World Resort

Now 100% owned by Village Roadshow Ltd, SEA WORLD NARA RESORT has announced a name change to SEA WORLD RESORT - further cementing its association and relationship with the adjoining theme park of the same name.

Finalised on the 29 September 2006, the acquisition saw Village Roadshow Ltd pay $20million for the remaining interest in the resort held by Japanese based company, Nara Australia.

Village Roadshow Ltd also own 100% interest in five of the Gold Coast’s major theme parks - Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet’n’Wild Water World, Paradise Country and Australian Outback Spectacular. The addition of Sea World Resort to this family reinforces its position as “Australia’s Number One Theme Park Resort”.

Linked by monorail to Sea World, Sea World Resort is known for its warm service and ‘family friendly’ facilities. As the theme park and resort tighten their relationship, for guests who stay it will be ‘just like living at Sea World’.

Resort General Manager, Ernst Pfister says, “ I am delighted with the new changes and look forward to a closer working relationship with the theme parks. I am confident that this relationship will enable us to continue to offer the best theme park holiday experiences to our guests. “

John Menzies, CEO for Warner Village Theme Parks, is also delighted to welcome Sea World Resort as a full member of the WVTP family and will be actively involved in future changes to enhance the resort. Plans are currently being finalised for a $2million upgrade to Sea World Resort’s lobby and Shoreline Restaurant. Further refurbishments, including the installation of LCD televisions in all rooms, are also planned for 2007.
