Green Lantern Coaster Overview
Prominently located at the front of the park, Green Lantern was built outside of the traditional Movie World boundaries. The coaster is the only 'El Loco' style ride from S&S to feature 4-across seating instead of the typical 2-across.
The highly manoeuvrable trains negotiate a layout featuring a steeper than vertical drop, dive loops, and mutiple tight turns and outward banks as well as a barrel roll.
Features on-board audio that is powered by a capacitor system that allows for rapid charging while trains are in the station area.
Temporarily closed due to a derailing incident on March 15, 2015. A component failure caused one carriage to become dislodged from the track and left riders stranded for hours. The cause of the incident was a faulty bolt, and as a result the ride was closed for 9 months while an investigation took place and certain components of the wheel assembly were redesigned. It reopened on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
