We soon got rid of that tree!! Cant believe u still remember that. One of many things i destroyed... maintenance car, rides...**Cough** tree behind Probe **cough** "The Bus is now leaving for Parting Tree, South Australia" -
We'll be sure to place a 'watch your step' sign on the next reincarnation of the ride.i remember my sister going on the merry go round, she hurt herself on it and so did a few other kids. im surprised that it wasnt removed for a safety issue -
Yes I remember that actually... Funnily enough I was supposed to go to the Out the Back show that very day the car rolled... someone was looking after me. We had many adventures with the old ambulance/fire trucks. Funnily enough thats where i learnt to drive manual!! By the way... remember the days the food & bev staff ran out of butter for the damper bread, and used the garlic butter (as used on Garlic bread) instead. Very un-australian.anyone remember the day that a certain undersized female security guard was driving the fire truck to take the billy tea staff out to the shearing shed for the mornings billy tea, when she rolled it? Joanne from HR "running" to her golden camry, and every man and his dog who had a car on the backstage side of post racing out to the carpark, while those with radios who stayed behind listening to the frantic calls going out on the air... I did a helitour once myself while working in Memories... they wanted promo shots for their brochures... and picked a day that was stormy and overcast... but since the pilot had already removed the window from the back seat, it had to be done then and there... -
Oh and lets add a couple of memories for good measure... * There was a charlie at Dodgems because the guest had somehow entangled himself in the seatbelt, hence the ride was stuck with a person still on it. *A girl on speed slide who insisted she rode with her lycra top on, only to become stuck after the first dip. Using initiative, she then stood up only to slip, and again and again. *The Powerpuff girl that misjudged her step and fell of the stage. Note: Buttercup doesnt fly in real life *When Norman the ram was free of his leash in the Outback Woolshed and was about to 'play a game' with one of the sheep, live on stage (lets just say it wasnt in the programme!) *The largish woman who jumped on the jumbo bean filled sheep display in the Outback Woolshed and burst it... sending thousands of little beans all over the shop. *The complaint that Wonderland supported "witchery and satanism" because of the spells used in the Jungle Jive holiday kiddies show *The Scandalus star that approached an operator and demanded VIP treatment... only to be inflamed by comments and abuse by other riders that 'she cant sing for %#&$' *A certain supervisor being stuck on the skyrider taking a shortcut, only to be radioed by the ops manager who asked for their location *Finding unexpected guests in the bushes after the Utopia rave, and the hoons who tried to break into the Outback Restaurant to steal alcohol *The Super Hero Headquarters... a shop!?! Oh, and the amazing street parade... on those quads. *Wonderland's last attraction - the Tiger Cubs. *The oooh's and ahhh's during windy days at Bush Beast... will the train get over the curve? *The old westfield car park greeter that became the Wonderland Express which conviniently shut down when driven in excess of 5 km/h *The staff Xmas party where a employee sang the song "Take This Job and Shove It' in front of management. Encore!! Great memories!!!

The park had enough trouble luring guests when they had over 20 rides. I dont think one Merry-Go-Round will do any justice... especially the old WL merry go round. I remember when they ended the licence with HB and the merry go round was bare... i remember santa's sleigh being added to it.And, I still feel they should have and could still create some sort of Wonderland Sydney Museum? Not sure if it'd work, but sounds ok. They could display the Bush Beast coaster cars, maybe have 1 ride there like the Merry-Go-Round? -
$2 ??Really, do you think it will would be anything that 'special'? I know, personally, I wouldn't pay to ride it. -
Sloppy seconds. Hmm sounds reminiscent of Wonderland purchasing the rights and designs of new rides, but the plans lay dormant. Eg... the planned indiana jones ride, the fly coaster, ski dome, resort complex, exotic animals exhibit... Money invested in projects that failed. As for the old Skyhawk, when I went up to the coast last year, I jokingly made a comment to the operators that ill be suprised if they could ever get it up and running... what a surprise. Wonder what they'd charge guests for the ride .I seem to recall being told they've spent upwards of a million on the ride, installed some new systems and whatnot, but it still doesn't work. As it stands now there isn't any money left to spend on it, but after they spent so much money on it they can't take it down, so they're currently trying to get the money up to finish it off. -
In case you change your mind... i studied psych and may be able to assist.i dont have an issue with wonderland closing down and i don't have 2 see someone about it -
Just a suggestion... don't take offence but before posting, it would be wise to use a spelling and grammar feature on a word processor to iron out those mistakes. Maybe then we'll understand what you're trying to say. Oh by the way, if you hear a car tootin' along Wallgrove Rd on the remembrance day, be sure to wave at me!!What are trying to say i dont understand the concept ..... Wonderland has not release a video showing the history of the park all i know that Luna Park has if i find out anymore information i will let u know about it -
I can't believe a congregration of people would rock up to a fence and .... ????? I think the only peice of Wonderland-memorabilia now on the site is the 'Wonderland Drive' street sign. A suggestion... Why don't we all gather around the street sign, hold hands in a circle and sing, "Wouldn't it be wonderful if the world was Wonderland" Bussy, sound good to you mate?

I agree. It was over two and a half years ago I wrote that comment. Just stumbled across the site again for new info about WhiteWater world. Wonderland_Girl_87... before you go on having a whinge and a (belated) attack on my comment... imagine being one of the hundreds of employees that lost their job. Funnily enough i did attend the IRC to support the employees on that day. Spent 3 years workin at Wonderland and enjoyed every minute of it (well, almost). Now, like most other ex-staff, ive moved on to greener pastures. It's amazing that people actually go to the effort find these old topics and continue them
