  1. Dreamworld should just reopen the attraction. If anywhere was really interested in purchasing it, the attraction would be gone by now. Itwas useful when we were too lazy to walk to the other side of the park, and it kept the asian tourists entertained until they decided they wanted to get off it half way...

  2. In case you don't remember Kyle, in the first season of Big Brother, the housemates didn't know where the house was - all they knew is that they were on the Gold Coast. They were blindfolded for the launch show. It was during the season that they realised where they were, I think that was due to the sound of the Tower of Terror. It would make no sense in having the house closer to the attractions at Dreamworld because all they would have to do as soon as they woke up was look around and see rides or hear screaming people. For someone who seems to have 'connections' in everything, you don't really seem to know much. :S

  3. If Bob Tan WAS the sole owner of Dreamworld, I doubt he would very well be standing in the middle of the park oneday making decisions. It's highly unlikely that a foreign individual owner would have any interest in making such decisions, and he would have a team of people he trusts implicity working under him to make these decisions. The only input the owner would have in such a situation would be a "yes" or "no" to any proposal put forward by this team. Before anyone tells me that Bob Tan isn't the owner, I know that Dreamworld is the property of Macquarie.

  4. Clearly Dreamworld have remarketed what was once a high-speed thrill ride into a gentle 'family' ride, in an attempt to give it a broader age appeal.
I don't think that anyone would've ever called The Roulette a 'high-speed thrill ride'. You get exactly the same ride on Stingray as you did on Roulette so they haven't changed it to a gentle 'family' ride, as it has always been a 'family' ride.
  5. No Zagan, you're the one who's incorrect. The Stingray was originally where the Wipeout was and it was themed to a roulette wheel. Richard is right. Dreamworld hasn't had a 'teacup spinning' ride. I personally preferred the ride when it was themed to the roulette wheel. I don't know why, it just more appealing to me I guess.

  6. i cant speak for the pre show on batman as i havent been to MW but no doubt if youve seen it once you dont want to again
I would have to disagree 100%. I really dislike the majority of pre-ride experiences unless it's just a simple themed queue line, like what the Tower of Terror had before it was left to its own device. Batman would be one of the only rides where the pre-ride experience doesn't irritate me. The Leathal Weapon and WWF movies got very repetative if you had to see them more than once a year. Batman's is the same each time, but it really does fit into the story. If they're trying to make the simuluator there for a particular reason, they can't very well open the doors, say nothing and let you take your seat. IMO Batman has excellent themeing before the actual ride and I don't mind going through it over and over.
  7. Which would you rather dreamworld_rulz, standing in a boring queue line, or being semi-entertained through some sort of pre-ride experience? I agree its not much, but I'd prefer to be waiting in the library, rather than standing in the queue out the front or seeing a movie like they showed in WWF and Leathal Weapson. It's not much, but its better than nothing.

  8. Ah, how exciting! Finally something is happening. How often do you plan on updating the construction gallary Richard? Do you have any idea when supports will be going up or when we will see pieces of the track? I know this is going to sound picky, but I am disappointed with the placement of this ride. Of course it is good that it will be right at the entrance of the park and easily visible from the Pacific Motorway, but I don't like the fact that it is going to be so close to Leathal Weapon. By the way Richard, we are in June, not July...

  9. Something along the lines of "X" would've been an excellent addition to Dreamworld, but Arrow only ever made the prototype "4th dimension" roller coaster at SFMM. SFMM have had numerous difficulties with "X" due to it being a completely new ride design, and from what I've heard, Arrow are no longer manufacturing rides due to their ineffiecient management being able to create positive cash flows. I think everyone on here agrees that Dreamworld needs a "first of its kind" roller coaster in Australia. Hopefully we will hear of their plans soon and lets hope it has something to do with B&M.

  10. If they built a ferris wheel as a major attraction, I don't see it making people who live in the other states want to fly up here to experience it, whereas, if they built a "first of its kind in Australia" roller coaster, I'm positive it would bring many more interstate tourists/vistors to Dreamworld. It would be a cheaper trip to fly up to Brisbane/Gold Coast to experience, for example, the first Flyer coaster in Australia, rather than traval to the USA to experience one. Dreamworld really does need something to compete with Superman though. Hopefully they will retaliate soon.
