  1. I think Gazza might've injected a little sarcasm into his reasoning:

Yes, there has been this long running problem engineers have had. It seems normal rules dont apply, and despite the fact that a space shot is essentially a strong steel frame attaching signs to it simply wont work. It has to do with variations in the earths magnetic field causing weakness in the structure....
The logo does look insane though.
  2. I was thinking the same thing earlier in the year but the structure has gone up so damn quickly; I don't think time is an issue anymore. Structurally, most of the ride is complete. It's only a matter of finishing the rest of the ride system (the launch components and electronics), but they can be installed simultaneously with the theming. This timeframe gives them a whole month to fabricate and fit the theming. Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with Superman's theming? I guess I've been spending too much time at Dreamworld. :D

  3. It's not maths, it's magic. It does seem kind of strange why you would feel weightlessness going up, and it did confuse me at first (I even considered the possibility that Richard was wrong :o). But alas, he's correct. Weightlessness by definition occurs when a body is accelerating at the same speed as gravity (making the object have no apparent weight, weight being mass by gravity) and this is indeed the case. It's decelerating at the same rate throughout the entire vertical part.

  4. At Dreamworld guest safety is our number one priority. All rides and attractions undergo daily testing through annual maintenance and regular safety audits and inspections. As part of this process the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride will close temporarily for all Dreamworld guests.
That description (emphasis added) seems to give the impression that they use the method of 'annual maintenance' to administer the daily testing. The absence of the word 'to' (as in "undergo daily testing through to annual maintenance") really gives a completely different meaning to Dreamworld's safety workings. It's been down for almost two weeks now. They've also gone to the effort of completely blocking the ride's queue off. Is that how the ride usually looks when they are conducting regular scheduled maintenance? Or is this a special 'cover up our mistakes' shield?
  5. Thanks for bringing this to my attention dreamworld_rulz. I will deviate from the topic of Sea World's fantastic new Ferris wheel for just a few moments to clear up this issue (if you're just after Sea World information, feel free to skip this post). Not once in my brief post did I accuse you of misspelling Disneyland or Dreamworld. I made a comparison between you and the people who misspell these proper nouns. It is my personal opinion that you are 'as bad' as people who engage in this hideous activity. The specific reasoning behind an opinion can be 'wrong', such as the facts relied upon to make such a statement, but the opinion itself cannot be wrong. The fact that you think the opinion is wrong is in itself an opinion—the irony.

  6. I don't know what sort of budget Movie World has allocated this ride and whether they're classing it as a minor or major addition but I'd also love to see an indoor launch. A simple yet creative pre-show would really complete a ride of this type. I'm sure Movie World has enough existing talent to put together a simple story. They did a brilliant job with Superman Escape's storyline. Adding a little something extra (like indoor launch theming) would really help to differentiate this ride from Dreamworld's Giant Drop.
