At this point I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest to see them close, they’re not a charity and if they’re not profitable, there’s no point opening their doors.

Yes this is very sad. The Pirates in Batavia ride was completely lost, as well as the Scandinavian themed area. It was good to see them opening at 9am the next morning, with the damaged areas blocked off. I really hope they can repair the damaged areas as good as it was before, I’ve been to Europa Park many times and I can say it’s the best theme park I’ve ever been to. Sad that this happened

Yeah I definitely agree with MickeyD. The new flying theatre in Europa Park Germany uses 2 theatres each with 70 seats, giving a theoretical capacity of 1400 people per hour. It is such a popular ride even with this I've seen the queue line exceed two hours in peak times.
On a positive note, this type of ride really does appeal to all. I hope they pull it off well.

Ah so it was. My bad

Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson said in a press conference that Dreamworld was progressing plans for the return of the Log Ride, Vintage Cars and the Mine Ride, Corroboree Stage two may be open in December this year.

Eureka operated for 7271 days
As of today it's been SBNO for 3402
Therefore I predict something will happen in the next 3869 days, so by the 3rd of October 2026** something might happen*.
*I'm basing this on the assumption that it would be a real joke for a ride to spend more time SBNO than it did actually operating, I'm sure there would be a few examples out there, but we'll see.
**God... I'll be 32

The last test dummies and mine carts were spotted as early as January 2015, and they said that in May, soooooo.......

After the incident I had a face to face discussion with guest services. Among other things they said they had concluded that it wasn't feasible reopen the ride.
-
Something I should point out here (this is Andrew), after my #eurekagate incident, Dreamworld made it very clear that they were not going to reopen it. Take that how you will.
-
Can someone suggest to the DW Facebook page to call one of their cubs Eureka? Just to troll
-
It didn't reopen someone change the title

something in me doesn't feel right - AndrewH = ThemeTendo? just my thoughts...
It wouldn't take a genius to discover the new account I created (I've left a fair few clues).
I really have remorse for trespassing and causing so much fuss. I would never ever do anything like that again. I like being on this forum, but wanted to get away from all the #eurekagate I started.
I've already linked my video from my AndrewH account, I wouldn't be so vain to do it twice.
-
If you ignore how the video is made, it's very clear that it won't reopen without some serious effort from Dreamworld. I can't see anything happening very soon.

Eureka turns 29 today

I think Dreamworld's comment is pretty much a 'no comment'. It's not like they can say they are not doing anything next year can they.

I opened this thinking someone had screwed with the HWSD logo. But no - HWSW.... *sigh* I do wonder how long it will stay themed to hot wheels though...
Once a ride gets to its fourth rebranding, it's probably time to get a new ride

I think "this is Dreamworld" is becoming irrelevant now, as I consider they've really picked up their game on park maintenance. Sure, there could be some improvements, but they're definitely taking steps in the right direction.
Yeah true. They have done some really good things. Does anyone else think the ice cream parlour is amazing? I'm just a bit sceptical, I take a 'I'll believe it when I see it' sort of attitude

Wow I didn't know you were Kenny

Dreamworld reads these threads;
Any chance of ever getting an official statement about the ride's future? Were you previously optimistic about the ride's reopening and now have changed your mind? What led to the ride's closure in the first place? Why were you testing earlier this year? Will the ride just stand for another 10 years?
Pop me an email so I can repost it.
Cheers DW

I wouldn't mind if the track stayed the same colour, but it needs to be repainted, colours look so dull now.
Thinking back, the Thunderbolt only had one complete repaint in its 22 year life so I don't have much hope. This is Dreamworld
-
I hope Dreamworld use this opportunity to put some block brakes in and use two trains.
-
I doubt it. But than again this is Dreamworld. Just changing the sign should be enough to retheme it.
When movieworld gets yet another decent roller coaster next year, hopefully this will nudge Dreamworld to do the same (probably not)

Am I the only one totally underwhelmed by the prospects of a Peter Brock museum in the park? I think Motorsport is a niche market and not really a big draw card like a new ride.
-
I think the gold rush referb will happen next year, it being 30 years and all. I doubt eureka will reopen, I just wish Dreamworld would rate it down so us nostalgic nerds wouldn't get so upset

Does anyone seriously think dreamworld will reopen? I am having my doubts
