I would imagine the demolition of a 15+ mtr tall volcano that sits in the middle of 4 major attractions wouldn't be something that is going to be taken lightly. No one in their right mind is going to just crash a bulldozer into it and hope it falls where it is without knowing the condition. It sat for 2 years without being touched so I can imagine it wasn't the most stable of buildings. Demolitions are things that would be planned out and done in stages as we have seen thus far...

They've cut the top part off the Bermuda volcano that was the biggest/used to house the fire, you can see the cone shaped piece on the ground to the left in the first pic, that was on top of the main one. They've only removed the outer skin so far... Not demolished yet.

I was at Sea World today and Sea Viper was running empty.. Does this mean we will see the ride open sooner than September?
-
wrong. if anything would be closed for a bermuda demolition/replacement it would be flume (runs through bermuda) or jet rescue (perimeter fence is partly made of the volcano.) BT has no bearing on Sea ViperSo it seems that it is closed for an extended period to allow demolition of Bermuda Triangle. And so it probably means that next time it has an extended period of closure with no work going on we know that a BM replacement is on the way!

same maker as jet rescue i believe which has downtime every now and again..Probably irrelvant and no need to mention it but the Mick Doohan Motocoaster is closed for maintenance from 15 June with no conclusion date. When I was up at the Gold Coast couple of months ago, I noticed the Motocoaster closed without being scheduled. Is this a poorly maintained or badly designed/run ride? Well it is badly designed in some way - not the 'thrill' ride I was expecting lol. Or (even though to me its unlikely) is something happening in that area? But there was probably no need to mention this - Motocoaster to me doesnt make much difference open or closed lol.

like a sea sponge?I can assure you Nike is GONEEEE, but for those of you who love Nickelodeon im sure it will be back some day in some shape or form. Maybe as a Sponge!!!

oh really? interesting..Dreamworld has lost there contract with Nickelodeon and it should be all down and dusted by Sept. But in saying that there is a possibility of a new contract with another company that is still unsure. It all seems to have a quite exciting twist Mwahahaha.

The Sea World show is on every day and has been for over a year.

wow I remember hearing the razorblade myth when I was a kid but whoever was telling it was saying it about the twister at wnw..thanks for the article.

they have officially changed the mon-fri hours with 5 rides opening at 11 instead of 10, sea viper jet rescue the flume rides sky climb and battle boats..
-
sea viper was also closed for maintenance and skyway closed as well with signs saying due to high winds. But isn't that 3 rides? And really with BT gone that only leave Sea Viper, the kids area the monorail and skyway and a adventure playground. I guess they are trying to push the people to see the animals first, but I could see some guests upset that they couldn't get to do what they want when they want, after-all when you pay $70 to get in you expect to be all up and running and I'm guessing this would leave some guests unsatisfied which not good for the park, company or the return rate of these guests. -
I was in the park last weekend and Jet Rescue and the Flume ride both had signs saying opening at 11am as did the battle boats. Does anyone know if that is going to be the case from now on or was it just a one off? It was quite annoying!

Anyone have any thoughts or care to speculate on the future of the iconic Volcanoes?

Any building needs to be maintained. The rides need daily maintenance when in operation and SBNO rides that receive no attention do not improve in condition sitting next to a beach in a salty climate. My point wasn't the condition of the structure it was that it would make sense to take it down slowly in a controlled environment.
