there is a pay option but there should also be a normal option unless it is turned off for the day (which happens when crowds are heavy.)

anyways, while you’re in the park go onto this page, click the blue virtual queue pass (pictures below) and activate the session. If Virtual Queue is open for the day it’ll allow you to line up but if not, the pay version will be the only one available :)

Wonderful, thank you so much for your help!!!

  2. Hello Theme Park Brains Trust!

quick question about the Virtual Queue system! We have had our local one passes for about 18months now (extended a few times due to COVID and being interstate)

I remember using our Virtual Queue once for a ride, but cannot for the life of me remember how I was able to get it to work again. Is it a one and done thing? Like only being able to VQ one ride per length of your passes? Seems pretty silly to me if that’s the case but anyway.. any help in understanding how it actually works would be greatly appreciated!

(We are currently in the park - so that’s not entirely the issue)

With the rush of Christmas and other announcements , this one flew under the radar.

The Big Banana in Coffs Harbour has revealed plans for a $50 million dollar expansion to be timelined over the next 20 years.

    The article states;

Another article regarding the expansion is here:

This is fantastic news for the Mid North Coast destination and shows particular faith in the region by the developer and owner, especially since the Coffs Centre is due to be bypassed and completed by 2024.

The attractions that are laid out here add to the already existing attractions. Of particular importance here is of course the Water Park expansion- which is sorely needed. This will add to an already extremely popular attraction and in my personal opinion , should be the main thrust of the park in regards to any expansion.

The Plantation Roller Coaster I suspect ( and fingers crossed) will most likely be Australia's first Alpine coaster installation. If this proves to be correct then this will certainly lift the status of the park to a must do destination for those travelling between Sydney and the Gold Coast. Coupled with its already exisiting Toboggan slide , this will add a good variety of attractions for the entire family and will certainly warrant a visit on the way up or down from the Gold Coast or even for a getaway by itself. The Coffs Region has plenty of natural beauty and interests to offer ( such as White Water Rafting on the nearby Nymboida River) and will stand on its own in the amusement park landscape of Australia. Looking forward to hearing and seeing these plans in greater depth and as they unfold.

Oooh I’ll have to ask my uncle about the water park expansion!
He is based here and works for Swimplex who created the waterpark in the first place so my cousins and I were the first to get to test it all out!

It will be so great to see some massive improvements out there! I remember the tour when I was young on the tram they had, and as you passed the billabong, a big Bunyip would rise out. I wish that had never gone out of action, it was such a fun experience!!

Motocoaster does still have a test seat out the front, im pretty sure it has the red light green light still but don’t quote me on that.

The Claw’s seatbelt is tiny and is a tight fit for a lot of people - probably the tightest fit in the park along with motocoaster - whereas (unless changed during its refurb) Giant Drops seat belt is a lot more forgiving so if Claw is fine so will GD.

Steel Taipan is the same seating arrangement as Rivals but for some reason the trains do feel more spacious and have a lot more room with the restraints so that ride should be easier to get on then Rivals was.

Most rides at Dreamworld are pretty forgiving so you should be fine, if you are feeling anxious for a ride with no test seat you can ask a staff member if you can test it out and they will assist you :).

Thank you all so much :) lucky I despise The Claw and Giant Drop, so don’t think I will be going on it unless my daughter begs 🙈 lol. Give me an actual rollercoaster any day!

I’m assuming I won’t be able to go on Escape From Madagascar which is a real bummer, as the “Reptar Ride” was always my favourite growing up.

Appreciate all the quick feedback, you guys are onto it!!

  5. Helloooo theme park brains trust!

My 8yo daughter and I are heading to Dreamworld next month. It will be her first time, and I haven’t been in around 11/12 years!

I was just wondering if anybody was able to tell me if any rides have test seats/harnesses you can try out before lining up to ride?

We were at MovieWorld earlier this year and we went on the DC Rivals Hypercoaster. I probably should have checked out the test seat, but the line was ridiculous and it was so hot, I didn’t want to lose our place and thought all would be fine! Long story short, I got on and it did take a couple of tries before we were finally able to get the harness to lock, but I tell you what, I felt so embarrassed and honestly was freaking out that it wouldn’t hold the entire ride and so did not enjoy it nearly as much as I’d like to think I would have! It also took a couple of goes on the front row of the Scooby coaster too, which is our favourite.

I’m about 165cm tall, and around 100kg, but hold all of my weight in my midsection which I think is why it was so hard to get the harness down.

I would like to avoid as much embarrassment as possible on this trip, understandably haha. Also would hopefully like to get on the Superman ride at MovieWorld now I believe my daughter is tall enough to ride!

Appreciate all and any feedback, thank you!!!
