Like most B&Ms, the ride starts with a chain lift to the top.

Or maybe they could provide a single rider queue rather than asking single riders to take the worst seats in the middle.

Supports that curl underneath.... You get the idea.

Supports that hang over flumes....

Supports with chunks cut out...

Supports with huge cantilevers....

Great Bear is notable for some crazy supports that avoid sitting in Spring Creek....

Coal Cracker & Great Bear

Great Bear (Like many coasters in the park) has a somewhat convoluted layout that ducks and weaves around terrain features and other rides, such as superdooperLooper.

Entrance signage.

Inverted means you hang below the track with your legs dangling, in case you didn't know.

Great Bear is Hersheyparks B&M inverted coaster.

The last part of the ride is a series of turns, dips, and a helix, clinging to the bank of Spring Creek.

The ride features a single loop.

The rides original trains were replaced with new ones built by Gerstlauer, and thankfully, the lap bars were retained.

The station and queue building.

Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain on the West coast is well known and opened in 1976, however Hersheypark brought the steel looper to the East coast in 1976, with a strikingly similar ride.

SuperdooperLooper is a well kept classic looping coaster built by Schwarzkopf.

Specifically, there is a small camel hump at the bottom that causes the boats to go airborne for a moment.

The final drop is perhaps the main reason to give this ride a go.....
