The ride continues, with two long, wide helices, broken up by a hill in between them (Seen on the right).

From the first drop is a large, ground hugging 90 degree left turn, into a 2nd hill. (The "Happy Junction" truck ride in Whistlestop Park is in the foreground)

The ride begins with a lift hill to a height of 60m and a 68 degree first drop.

"Video equipment is strickly prohibited".

The ride doesn't carry a storyline driven Superman theme like at parks elsewhere. Rather, it is simply branded with Superman colours and emblems.

Superman - Ride of Steel is one of the rush of Intamin hyper coasters built in the early 2000s.

The "Whistlestop Bus Line" moves against the wall in an orbital motion.

The portal into the area. Previously, it carried a Thomas the Tank Engine theme.

The layout concludes with a corkscrew, elevated turnaround, and a figure 8 turn.

After the helix is a straight drop into the 2nd half of the ride.

The ride begins with a twisting first drop, vertical loop, elevated turnaround and uphill helix.

They even found a way to recycle the mountain structure of the "Skull Mountain" flume which previously operated at the park.

The queue passes through a post apocalyptic environment.

Riders stand on their feet during the ride. An adjustable height harness and a "bicycle seat" between the legs keeps them securely in place.

Apocalypse was the coaster that started it all for Bolliger & Mabillard, and previously operated as "Iron Wolf" at Six Flags Great America in Illinois.

Returning to the station.
