The layout of Vortex follows a fairly similar formula to most large looping coasters built by Arrow Dynamics at the time.
The ride features several lift hills. The final one (On the left) is enclosed.

White Water Canyon
The ride features a popular viewing area with coin operated fountains.
A lack of shade over the queue area means riders are probably begging to be soaked on days with long lines.

The top of the tower is of course a great place for photos, but is also a sought after position to watch the night time fireworks.
