Drop Tower is a "Gyro Drop" ride. So called because instead of using fixed drop cars, it features a ring of seats that rotates to provide a panoramic view.
Viking Fury has a pleasant lakeside setting.
The apex of the dive loop.
The name "Banshee" has a chequered history at Cedar Fair. The name was initially slated for Mantis at Cedar Point in 1996, however the negative connotations and some public backlash led them to drop that name. In 2014 the company had another crack with the name, to the joy of local coaster enthusiasts.
The church themed station.
Here you can see the final two inversions. A second loop, and a drawn out inline twist.
The fall of the terrain means the train picks up even more speed than from the first drop as it plunges out of the zero g roll towards the pretzel knot.
After the dive loop the train completes a vertical loop that the lift hill threads through...And then a zero g roll.
The first inversion is a Dive Loop.
The ride starts off with a steep, curving first drop.
Banshee features the first installation of B&Ms new inverted coaster trains, which replace the typical firm over the shoulder restraints with a lap restraint and soft rubber "vest".
The cemetery theming in the queue features a tongue in cheek "eternal flame" for Son of Beast, the coaster that previously stood in this spot.
The layout features 7 inversions: a dive loop, a vertical loop, zero g roll, pretzel knot (2), another loop, and finally an inline twist.
At the time of it's opening in 2014, Banshee took the record for the worlds longest inverted coaster.
The dual loading station, styled like a hangar.
A couple of inline twists and a 450 degree helix round out the ride.
Through the forest of columns you can see the double inline twist, the final main element on the ride.
After the loop is another "lie to fly".
Whilst on their backs the train negotiates a loop. Riders literally go head over heels, and dive headfirst towards the ground on the 2nd half of the loop.
