The Rhino Rally attraction used to send 4x4s on floating barges down this river section. The river section proved to be both unreliable and unthrilling over its lifespan, so the river has been given over to Cheetah Hunt for a high speed slalom centimeters from the waters surface.

To state the obvious, the trains are custom, Cheetah themed ones.
The train then cruises along the edge of the parks main reserve, even passing over the skyride.
From the figure 8 the train plunges into a trench.
Its a cross between a top hat and a mine train coaster.
You are launched into the rides signature element, a high figure 8 on a stick like support structure.
After the wide turn you drop into the main launch. No stopping!
The element is really just a means of positioning the train in an awkward site. The designers were determined to use the parks defunct monorail station as the ride station for this attraction, subsequenty influencing the design.
The ride kicks off slowly, with a rolling launch into a wide turn.
At the time of writing, Cheetah Hunt was Busch Gardens newest coaster.

This base contains the motors that move the carriage. This differs to rides like Surfrider at Wet n Wild, where the carriage is free rolling, and propelled by track mounted LIMs.
