The water feature is drained for works.
The ride seems to be under permanent maintenance.
Imax is closed, for conversion to Spongebob Squarepants 3D.
"Low Clearance"
The pod dropping back into the tunnel.
The whole final set of switchbacks and grouping area has been redone with bright red vinyl flooring and checkerplate walling.
At the top of the last flight of stairs some of you may remember an odd wedge shaped room. Dreamworld weren't ones to let this space go to waste, so they squeezed in a set of switchbacks, and this is the result.
Even the bins have been themed!
The part of the queue where the stairs are has had some work...new signage on these doors for instance.
Some of the conduits weren't too functional.
Variety in the themed environment was a common theme we discovered. At one point you pass a huge optical illusion. Why? Because they thought it looked cool.
The stairs have been spraypainted with warning stripes.
This gives you an impression of the overall scale of the attraction....I can't be the only one who will quietly enjoy the 'sky box' view of the Super 8 Aqua Racer whilst on the stairs, lining up for the Aqualoop.
The blue slide looks like it will offer the most translucent experience.
A brightly coloured shade strucutre has turned up at the top of the tower.
Obligatory 'loop' shot.
With all five slides more or less finished it wont be long until Aqualoop opens.
In the last week the mini "Hyper Drop" slide has popped up. According to earlier announcements, this allows guests to test their courage before riding the full sized Aqua Loops.
And this shot shows the slides from their 'loopiest' angle.
The orange AquaLoop has its drop capsule installed. You can also see each slide will have a viewing window on the first drop (Similar to what is featured on the Wedgie down the road at Whitewater World)
