The track heads up for its second inversion; a zero-g-roll over the station.
At the bottom of the helix you come frightfully close to the landscape.
From the first corkscrew the ride really begins to really pick up speed, throwing guests into a tight helix.
And before you know it you are over the cliff face and into a corkscrew high above the valley.
But the drop continues over a river of blood, still gaining speed....
The first drop is actually quite small, and gives a false sense of security to what lies ahead.
The rides centerpiece is a station themed to be like an alien life form that has withered out of the ground. A short lift takes the trains to the top of the hill.
Perhaps Alton Towers most regarded attraction is Nemesis, an intense inverted coaster buried into the landscape.

A look at the main swimming lagoon and slide complex at Wonderlands small water park.

Photo taken December 2003.

Much of the appeal Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster comes from its use of suprise....The fairly small entrance facade manages  to disguise the true scale of the ride within.
However the new slides will flatten out a bit more  before the big drop.
The two outside slides, previously a 'triple dip' design are gone, and are set to be replaced by slides fairly similar to the middle slide.
The slides are said to have a 'dueling' effect as they turn in opposite directions, however this is only just visible from a section of the stairs to the top.
The sandy bottom allows the rays to partake in natural camouflaging behaviour.
The lagoon is divided by a rock wall. The far end contains the larger rays, whilst the closer end contains smaller ones (Some no larger than a saucer).
The rays live in a well shaded, flat bottomed lagoon.
