Quokkas are a rather small and cute hopping marsupial. Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth is known for large numbers of them.

The exhibit is home to at least 60 parrots at any given time, and features rainforest, desert and Bush zones.

Dingoes aren't quite a true Australian native, migrating here a few thousand years ago.

The dingoes were shy on our visit. One can be barely seen the left kennel.

Even if you don't see any echidnas you still get the fun of crawling through a tunnel.

Keepers release a snake into the picnic area for guests to observe.

Some of the most entertaining wildlife at Currumbin is outside the exhibits. Here we see the bush turkey having a dig.
