OK FIRSTLY, superman escape has been running single train as one train is currently pulled appart undergoing maintenance so it's running at reduced capacity, at least 4 minutes per cycle. meaning there is 0% chance of getting over 1000 riders an hour until second train is operational. Secondly my information regarding stats of riders comes from maintenance staff be cause i know some staff who work for WVTP and this sorta stuff interests me so I ask them. The reason SE doesn't attract as many people is alot of people tend to be intimidated by the ride where as with WWF it looks relatively tame and you can't actually see the scooby doo spooky coaster so it doesn't tend to freak people out. Altthough i have been told vomitt on scooby is quite common, more common than what I was expecting. Superman escape is a tall very fast high intensity thrill ride that a significant amount of riders get freaked out by looking at it. It truly is a beast and a great ride, but many people are intimidated by it so it effects the attendance on the ride. you may have some people 50+ but the median average would be around 15-30ish. Anyway enough of this.. it's about the motocoaster. NB i truly hope i'm not going to be dissapointed by the motocoaster, because first impressions... well not great.

I don't really think it is in reply to superman escape because superman escape has a focus really only on thrill ride class where as motocoaster is has a more broad family attraction so a high percentage of guests will be willing to ride the ride kind of like wild west falls and scooby, where as superman escape due to it's high thrill rating and high visibilty gets more tween teen riders but not alot of other age groups on a whole meaning a relatively low attendance on the ride.

  3. Superman escape is still a semi gravity reliant coaster, as long as it makes it over the top hat it will have enough stored potential gravitational energy to complete it's track at speed. Where as this Motocoaster could ascend it's first hill at 50kmph and due to the fact the ride barely loses height throughout the track it would end up stalling. But if it was launched at full speed it should easily make the full track at a decent speed. well one should hope so.

  4. I still think the carousel is far below par. Doesn't like much more than a cheap carnival ride. Aesthetically it's pretty poor. All of the frame should be hidden from sight including the framing in the ceiling. the cavas looks flimsy and cheap and has spines poking through it. It should also have the more traditional cam mechanism that allows the 'horses' to go up and down. It also is missing lighting components that give it just that extra extravagance the ride lacks. This current installation is suitable for a carnival, not a themepark.

  5. Hey guys this has been bugging me. In this photo (source Richard, thank you kindly) post-1033-1190110337.jpg You can see at the end of the launch section of track there are 2 yellow steel harnesses which is the point where the hydraulic friction wheel motor and the track physically connect. It appears that the track is complete yet there are 2 spare unused harnesses. Does anybody know why? or have any theories as to why there aren't motors attached to those harnesses?

  6. Unless specified in a fixed price contract, with each contractor they deal with, construction costs can rise with delays. Which is why construction projects usually have a contingency fund, just incase there are unexpected circumstances, such as weather delays and unforseen events etc. If on the other hand they have a fixed price contract, the contractor is then responsible for any extra costs/ time required to finish the job. Most building and construction contracts do not work under a fixed price contract, they work under the premise that it will be finsihed when it is finished. Contractors are notorious for this.
