  1. Just in case anyone is interested: Jamberoo unveils $20 million investment plan (2006)
That's what Gaz was getting at. I remember reading an interview in the paper last year and Jamberoo was actually supposed to have a new slide this year. I don't think the park proposal is about eliminating Jamberoo, Sydney just doesn't have anything anymore, and from personal experience Jamberoo is too far away for Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast dwellers. N.S.W needs something like this and Sydney just seems to be central for everyone with easy access.
  2. What ever it is, if it is, we should all be grateful no matter what is. I feel now that majority of enthusiasts in the world are becoming ungrateful. As long as parks add rides they will be keeping me happy. Adding any ride (as long as it not be a upcharge) would have to increase attendance and increasing attendance would increase profit giving us more rides each year (in theory).

  3. Lol... Not really one of those "credits" guys... But I will definately do Gwazi. Harry Potter should be good, my sister is really looking forward to that. Last time I visited it was in mid to late January and had to wait no longer than 20 minutes for rides at the Disney Parks, with the exception for one public holiday. Space Mountain and Expedition Everest was always something like a 5 minute wait.

  4. The people with the back problems have been on all coasters excluding ones from Busch Gardens and the new woodie at SFMM. Like I said, absolute BONE rattlers are the ones I'm talking about. I am not steering my group clear of any rides, I just meant which ones should they sit out. My father and uncle are the ones with the back problem. Like I said they have been on them, my dad went on everything at SFMM excluding the Viper, Deja Vu, Scream (as its a bit jolty? at the best of times), and X2 which I have told them both to stay away from. I wouldn't say they have back injuries, there just fragile from coal mining all these years. Just because one or two riders or even all except one wont/cant go on a ride doesn't mean I will sacrifice going on it. The main concern was just Busch Gardens, which Gazza cleared that right up for me. I probably didn't phrase the question too well, but hopefully this one has cleared it up.

  5. Hey. My family and I will be heading to the US again with a few friends in 2012. Basic plan is really just to go Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knotts, Disneyworld Resort, Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando and Busch Gardens, of course with visits to places like Vegas and such in there. I just need to know however a few things, in our group there will be a few people who have back and neck conditions, nothing serious, just if they ride something like ghost rider it puts them out of action for a few days. I just need to know of any coasters these guys should steer clear, I am unaware of how Busch Gardens (Gwazi in particular) coasters are as this will be my first visit there. Also, a few of the people in my group had noticed there was a "up-close" coaster tour at Busch Gardens, anyone who has previously done this tour please give advice as to whether or not this would be any good for them. This being my third visit all else is pretty much covered. The expansions at DCA should be done with Radiator Springs being the only thing incomplete unfortunately, some new coasters to try since 2008, very exciting.

  6. 1. Superman Escape - first two seats 2. Giant Drop - No matter how many times I go on it I get as nervous as anything up the top 3. Corkscrew - Haven't ridden since the overhaul so corkscrew in its day 4. Lethal Weapon - I don't care how rough it is, its just an overall awesome ride! Not to mention it looks great! 5. WWF - Just an amazing ride. Awesome theming, ride time and ride thrills. Plus bonus points being a ride based around the old west. :D Now it gets hard. Next 5 aren't in any order, all equal 6. Wipeout - The ride just never gets old. 7. Bermuda Triangle - In it's yester-years 8. Scooby doo - Again in its yester-years 9. Looney Tunes River Ride - Takes me back to childhood memories 10. The Bro If wonderland was still around then Bush Beast and Bounty's Revenge would have been up the top of the list.

  7. I'll raid the old photo albums and see what I find. I remember there was a few interesting things. Ok so I found a few pictures (still a lot to go through). None of Movieworld but some interesting pictures no doubt about it. I have a picture of the log ride at Sea World and in the background you can see the thrill seeker, however the ride signage says Wild Wave? Second picture is of the rapid ride at Dreamworld, photo was taken maybe mid late 80's, just an interesting picture as there is no Tower of Terror in the back ground. And third. Does anyone know of a kids power roller coaster (indoors) either around Coffs Habour or further up the coast? I have a picture of one which was taken in 1984. Carriage looks to be a crocodile wearing a hat? If anyone knows where this was please update the database so I can upload this picture for others to see.

  8. some joints in the high stressed areas need rewelding after finding fine cracks
You mean x-ray welding for stress fractures? If it was being x-ray welding it would explain its reasons for being down so long. After all corkscrew had the same problems and it too was down for a long time. Seems our coasters are showing their age if this is the issue.
  9. And are you serious? The roller coaster are machines remember, machines with A LOT of moving parts. It is inevitable for them to break down. This is what visitors need to remember, all machines break down, there is no perfect machine out there that won't. If it happens it happens, the park maintenance will do their hardest to get it back up and running for the guest... after all the guest do pay their wages remember.
