  1. What about Movie World? Is that why they are retaining the effects and even adding some new ones?
Personally, I don't think so. Wild West falls was a disaster too in my last visit. I was there for a week and a half and visited movieworld about 4 days, every day all the projectors on the ride said replace lamp... I mean surely they would have spares in a store room somewhere? And I remember being told mechanics walk the rides every afternoon on closing for minor repairs and to pick up lost items. Seems the warner parks have lost their touch, look at Jet Rescue theming... and Surfrider. Their last major themed ride seemed to be Scooby Doo. I just know someone is gunna get up me for not saying Superman.
  2. I'd have to agree with you T-bone. I visited the parks in 07 and when I went on Berumda it's theming was still great. My last earlier this year led to alot of disappointment. More of the boats speakers don't seem to work (those 4 inch speakers are CHEAP nowadays, no excuss there), ALL of the theming was out of sync, majority of the lighting didn't work, only half the disappearing UFO was working and the parts where the gets fast... was uh slow. And don't get me started on the fire. Anyhow, I'm back from a few months of non stop work. Hope to get involved in the forums again a little bit more.

  3. Talking about dints and such... these cars DON'T handle well. You could tell they were awkward to drift and control in certain maneuvers. When I went there the cars touched at least 4 times making one bumper actually fall off and one guy clip the right hand wall when drifting back stage.

1.how often do they change tyres?
I wouldn't imagine too much. The tires used are more slick than usual the prevent gripping. When my mate got into drifting he used to go through 4 tires in a day when he used to drift. So on average he would do about 5 races a day which involves roughly 15 laps, sometimes more sometimes less. But I could be wrong :) I would like to know that myself.
  4. reanimated... It isn't a waste of a car. You know the car that magically drifts backwards and the driver has excellent control of it? Well that's because the back is the front. Basically the engine sits in the bonnet as usually, driveshaft goes to the rear of a car, a special diff is fitted to let the REAR wheels turn and the drive sits backwards in the back seat and looks out the rear window.

  5. Whitsy your name just doesnt make sense... you're not witty at all... in fact quiet the opposite. Are you reading post as to why we don't have many rides? But like you told everyone about the up-charge attractions, if u don't like them steer clear, well if you don't like Sea World steer clear and shut up! I don't think you realise how much effort and time staff put into that park (I'm not so much talking about operations staff). Sea World has done a great deal in the ways of marine conservation, you need to remember, Sea World isn't just an amusement park its a home for many scientists, ruscued animals and mammals and rehabilitation. Not ALL funding the park gets goes directly on new attractions for us to enjoy. You say this captivation is cruel, you wanting the park to cut funds for their more serious side to add stuff for you is just cruel and selfish.

  6. I got on superman at 10, rode it 4 times and finished riding it at 11. I went in line for Batwing and noticed superman was NOT going. After my ride I walked over noticed people were being turned away. The next time I saw a train go was at about 12:30 and then saw a whole lot of people running to that end of the park. Those times are just estimates.

  7. Sorry I know this is late but Spotty you are an absolute liar. Scooby never had more than a 30 minute wait on Sunday, it was running excellent with no break downs. Superman broke down for a good three hours however. Another cut back, majority of employee's now are not given shifts longer than 3 to 4 hours, in saying this, some employee's already worked that amount of hours a day but those who worked longer no longer do so any more. That statement could be incorrect, it was just something I over heard a few staff discussing. To answer your question about the event cerberus I bumped into two family friends who work there, a waitress and cleaner whom both were working at the function that night. I must say on my visit to Dreamworld I was very pleased :) And to top off the visit I never waited longer than 10 minutes for a ride, including Cyclone and Giant Drop with only one side going. Just to add to, how long has Corkscrew had an on-ride photo camera's?

  8. Cadboy there still very strict. I saw someone get up to the end of the line and an attendant saw them scratch there pocket. They made them leave the queue to put it some where and had to line up again without cutting past people to catch up to his group. The steam throughout the ride and the holes in the sound stage only operate during weekends as well and of course the obvious one train during weekdays. As for ride times, MW opens at 9:30 on weekends, rides open 10 and shops open 10:30. Scooby-doo theming is apparently all fixed but won't be turning on the fog machines again until these cut back's are over. The sensors for the water tank on WWF aren't working atm... there's two streams on all the time soaking riders (unless thats normal in summer). And here's one for you... a private function was held Saturday night at Movieworld... it cost $28 000 for the group of 20 business men to hire out Batman.... surely the park would have made a fair profit from that?

  9. BTW scream rocks!
Ahh WHAT!!! :o That would have the be the worst B&M I have ridden... although I if it had to come to Australia I wouldn't complain lol. I think majority of there coasters have a wow factor... simply because we don't have that kind of variety in Australia. Well I have only even been to Magic Mountain and out all parks I have visited I enjoy the most. The only downfall... going up, down and around that mountain all bloody day!
