Of course I know the brand names but all the coasters you have suggested are terrible. Every single choice. You've specifically gone and made a park with the exact sort of brand names that Anka did, and they proved the model doesn't work. They had ONE decent coaster and even that is just the wrong choice (intamin 10 inversion rev b and their only big brand name).

In fairness, Wonderland Eurasia had a few decent coasters – the Intamin 10-inversion, the Zierer ESC, and the IE Park indoor looper. The Jet Rescue clone was arguably respectable too, if it had ever opened to the public.

I actually see it as much worse than watching a rip-off copy of a Hollywood blockbuster.

I can't imagine he's going to sell more than a few hundred copies at best; a RMC documentary is of niche interest after all. Personally I'd like to see him making a reasonable profit that he can then invest back into producing other material of interest to theme park enthusiasts.

The only parks that we can truly say are at their best are WhiteWater World and Paradise Country. Neither of which have a long history.

For what it's worth, my favourite park in Australia is and remains Adventure World in Perth...

Aussie world is definitely improving. From what it is was 10 years ago, to now, it’s improved dramatically.

Such a shame they took out their wooden mouse though. That was a treasure; I honestly thought it ran better than the one in Sydney.

As much of an eyesore as that building is, I wouldn't be mad if they gutted it, and kept it for now with the ambition of putting a dark ride in there down the track.

The track may well have been removed by then.

    (I'm here all week!)

  5. Random thoughts having read this thread:

    • Buzzsaw is no great loss. It was and is a turd. I’m much more upset about the demise of Big Red Car, which made me laugh.
    • Abyss is a good ride that would be better with lap bars. For atmosphere alone (if perhaps not ride selection) I regard Adventure World as one of the top parks in Australia.
    • I’m not inclined to write off Dreamworld just yet. The Mack Blue Fire is a good ride and a crowd pleaser. A few more upgrades like that could turn the place around.
    • They’d be mad to remove the Giant Drop. Though it’s not a record holder any more it’s nevertheless the most iconic ride they have.

To be honest if you could run Rivals without stacking, then the capacity would be plenty. That would mean opening the entrance gates as soon as the train parks like is standard around the world, and having more than 2 station staff. It would actually be fascinating to see the numbers and if an extra 2 loaders would be instantly paid for by increased ride photo/On ride video sales.

For me the ultimate insult in Warner operations was seeing Green Lantern loading efficiency and throughput quadruple after the queue had been closed for the day.

I suppose the operations are still somewhat more efficient than China....

I understand why parks limit fast passes on their most popular attractions, but I intensely despise when they provide x rides on x attraction. SFMM is the perfect example of this. I don't like freefall drop rides (Giant Drop, Lex Luther etc.) so I'd much rather use the fast pass on something else.

Heh, don't ever go to Universal Japan then :)

They sell fast passes in bundles of specific rides – between 3 and 7 of them – so if you want a pass for something popular like Flying Dinosaur you end up having to pay for a pass for something you probably wouldn't have bothered to ride otherwise.

Also, their top tier fast pass only limits a couple of the key rides to one use only.

DC Rivals is one of the best rollercoasters in the world.

    Not even close mate, sorry.

Also has anyone on the pages actually ridden a Raptor? I would like to hear first hand of the ride experience!

I've ridden the one in Texas. It is a fantastic ride but the throughput is very limited. I'd have thought something high capacity would be a better fit for Dreamworld.

Being realistic, I think a good fit for Dreamworld would be a new generation Vekoma – any of the below would work. Before anyone asks, I have ridden Lech Coaster and it's an absolute masterpiece.
