Exactly as Spotty said, It was firstly listed for a few days in the park as "Closed due to high winds" even on a calm day, Then they changed it to closed until further notice which is how they closed down the train and other no longer existing rides. Plus with the maintenance going on in the buildings right beside it, it did seem a bit of an ominous warning it was on its way out.Did I miss something? -
So the Skyway isn't going after all. Anyone know what the reason for the massive delay? As in what parts were in need of replacing? Or was it more related to the removal/upgrade/something of the sharks and aquarium?Attractions Maintenance The Water Park is closed from 27 April - 1 September. Sea World Aquarium is closed from 24 May. Shark Attack is closed from 24 May. Bert and Ernies' Big Dive at Sesame Street Beach will be closed for scheduled maintenance from 24 May - 20 June inclusive. Zoe’s Sub Splash at Sesame Street Beach will be will be closed until 12 September. Skyway is closed until 12 September. Sesame Street Beach will be closed for scheduled maintenance from 29 November - 12 December inclusive. Jet rescue Coaster will be closed for scheduled maintenance from 1 - 14 November inclusive. Monorail will be closed for scheduled maintenance from 15 - 28 November inclusive. -

Spelling, punctuation and grammar should be correct and proper at all times. Take the necessary time to properly form your posts, because if they are not up to standard they may be deleted. Many Browsers these days have built-in spell checkers so there is no excuse for not making the effort.Yes it is quite funny that Shrek 4 is comming out but... what im talking about is the character then will be replaced by a character Not mentioning! then later on they will have a new movie and they will be expanding the daily planet to DC Comics
One-word or single phrase replies are not acceptable. You should put some thought into a response, even if the answer is straight forward, it doesn't hurt to elaborate. ----------------- Sure if you want to post info whether or not it's genuine, but come on, at least try to follow the basic forum (and English language) guidelinesNOP! -
I doubt this very much. It's not listed as being closed on their site. If this is troll, I call for 1mth ban!hey Just have a sad notice to MW fans that shrek has been removed , they will be getting a new movie and a character!! it was SHREKS last day yesterday. -
Well if they're spending $6m on a flying fox, surely they're getting ripped off unless its from one side of the park to the other (to replace the skyway?). Let's hope we get something decent and well themed so the long journey out there seems worth it.

It could explain why the Skyway has been closed for ages?

Could have been upgrades/maintenance on the controls or theming in the station?Somewhat. They day I was there, no construction or movement of any kind was taking place between park opening and 1pm when the ride opened. It was why I questioned if the delayed opening was really for construction or for something else (e.g. Cost Cutting like VRTP would do at the moment) -
Surely a log ride would have a place fro rubber stoppers on the front/back. Looks like something was bolted to the top front and maybe a chain at the nose

I'm thinking one of those kids rides that goes up and down and around. (Like the aeroplanes at dreamworld)

Cheers, so the Segmented Switch is looking like flexible rubber lolThe .gif down the bottom sort of this page shows how it works. -
-
haha, sorry but ummm...... what's that look like? The track switch is one of those cool, roll over type switches like you have on Expedition Everest... -
Cheers Joz, how about the maintenance trackswitch? It doesn't look like the pieces match at the right angle to be a normal switch. Anyone got a video?
-
Yea the threat of mass exodus and 58000 pissed off people made them extend the deadline for reaching 60k fansjust found this on face book! (and yes i do have pirate enabled...) -
Thank you for the answers. Have you been a monorail driver Joz or just done your research? Also side questions which doesnt warrant it's own thread, every time a ride departs the station on a coaster (any park) they ops always right down certain info on a checklist. What are they actually writing down? (I may have asked this before but just can't remember/find thread)
-
Bascally I just wanted to know where the speed controls are (as in i was expecting some kind of lever like a train) or if its all one set speed? Also, what are all the screens showing the same for? And finally, how does the trackswitch work to the maintenance section?
-
Where's the SeaLion theatre in those ones sorry? I thought all the water ones were all on the ski lake Also can anyone confirm what that blue button is on the monorail next to start/stop? and basically everything else on the control board lol

Well I fractured my wrist in primary school actually. Should I go back and sue them now? I mean, it's only been 10 years or so... "$6500 in lost earnings from the paper round." That's a shit load for paper delivery "He claimed a Movie World employee excited the students by telling them about the park rides and counting down until the park opened." MW should just take the piss out of him and put giant signs up warning people not to be excited

I wish I was able to get a $40000 job at 14 Douchebag in question: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100...703&ref=sgmTeenage paperboy sues Warner Bros Movie World for lost earnings over broken wrist * Greg Stolz * From: The Courier-Mail * April 23, 2010 12:00AM A SCHOOL boy injured at Warner Bros Movie World is suing the Gold Coast theme park and the State for thousands of dollars in lost earnings as a part-time paper boy. Corey Mason Cross, 14, has launched legal action seeking almost $60,000 in damages after he allegedly fractured his wrist in a fall during a school excursion to Movie World in December 2008. He is holding the theme park and the Government liable. In a statement of claim filed earlier this month in the District Court in Brisbane - with his mother acting as "litigation guardian" - the Toowoomba teen alleged he was waiting with students from Centenary Heights State High to enter the park. He claimed a Movie World employee excited the students by telling them about the park rides and counting down until the park opened. When the gates opened, the students ran into the park and Corey was allegedly knocked over in the rush. He suffered a fractured left wrist and abrasions which caused scarring, court documents states. The injuries caused him 'significant pain, suffering and loss of amenity of life', litigation firm Shine Lawyers allege. The claim alleges Movie World and the Government breached their duties by failing to take proper safety precautions during the excursion. It alleged that after the accident, Corey was unable to return to his job delivering The Toowoomba Chronicle. His damages claim of $57,718.85 includes more than $6500 in lost earnings from the paper round. He is also claiming more than $40,000 in future earnings that lawyers say he stands to lose. The claim states he wants to become a computer engineer but the injury will affect his capacity to work and disadvantage his job prospects. Movie World has made a confidential final offer to settle the claim. Corey's mother, Nicole Lee, declined to comment. -

Wouldn't this info breach some part of your contract if you work at the park?
