  1. ok so looking at extended fore3casts, Friday COULD be pretty average weather.

we fly into GC airport at 1030 on thte thursday and are hiring a car, could probably be at MW by 1130.

THat gies us 5.5 hours in the park, do you guys think this will be enough to get SE, AA, GL, JL, SDSC and WW done as well as doing SE and AA one or two more times as well as maybe SDSC another. Might also see Stunt Driver depending on time

  2. So I'm heading back to Movie World for a Day next Friday and am really looking forward to it!

I'm from Melbourne and only get to go once every two years or so.

I'm interested to see how i enjoy my former favourite park in the world (has been over taken by DInseyland) after going to Disneyland. I actually using this trip to Movie World as a kind of filler before i go back to Disneyland to do a proper 5 day trip at the parks opposed to the 2 days i did last time.

Might head over to Sea World as well to check out storm coaster and let the Mrs. look at the penguins for 5 hours <_<

Anyone got any advice on how busy MW will be on the Friday?

Also, now that Gotham City Cafe is closed, where is the best place to get some grub?

  3. I think if you've only been to Australian Theme Parks you find that airtime and forces make a good ride.

I thought the same before going to Disneyland.

Now I think the excellent theming, story and special FX make a good ride. If you can get some thrills in there it's a bonus.

My favourite ride in the world is Indiana Jones at Disneyland the perfect blend of the above.

I still really enjoy roller coasters, but I think rides Iike Indiana jones and the haunted mansion are far better experiences.

  4. If the lack of theming is indeed true it is quiite dissapointing.

Ive been satisfied with the theming of Movie world with their last few attractions.

Green lantern was fine and Arkham Asylum was pretty good. Im not saying that they are Disney standard (maybe California Adventure v 1.0 :P)

I really would have prefered they just bring back the police academy show. That was really good

  5. Why not WDW?

The vastness and emptynees of WDW doesn't appeal to me.

I like the charm and the intimacy of Disneyland and also its rich history.

Also, Tokyo has a Cinderellas Castle, better theming and more original attractions than WDW has in my opinion. Plus it has DisneySea.

I will definately get there at somepoint (plan to go there next time i go to New York) but its not high on my list at this time

  6. So I've completed my trip to Anaheim and now relaxing in Hawaii. Disneyland was the greatest experience I've ever had. Everything from the moment I stepped into the park, from the cast members to the rides and the atmosphere of the park. Big thunder mountain railroad got pushed back from the 1st to the 13th February while we were there so I didn't get to ride it or splash mountain. Favourite rides were Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds (after getting used to your spine being readjusted), Star Tours, California Screamin, Soarin' over California, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Radiator Springs Racers. Indiana Jones was a good ride, but only really on the first ride, second time round just didn't seem to be as good. The Fireworks and World of Color shows were absolutely spectacular, so much that I went back a second time for World of Color. One cast member in particular stood out the most, that being when getting on the tower of terror, we were buckled up and ready to go, and after some small talk he said "this ride car has a small malfunction, so we have to move you to the next car. So we will get your seat belts unlocked and start moving you and it will take a few minutes." The instant everyone went for their seatbelts he shuts the starts the ride. Made my last ride for my trip to Disney just that much better. We also did a day at knotts berry farm. Ghostrider and Calico Mine Train were shut, but I got on every other rollercoaster. Park was pretty empty and all rides were basically walk ons. Best ride there is a tie between Xcelerator and Silver Bullet. Universal Studios as fun. Great to see the workings of a studio in their back lot. Water world stood out as the highlight, a great show with funny crowd interactions before and during the show. Transformers ride was amazing and so was Jurassic park and the mummy. Already starting to plan my trip to Florida for Disneyworld now that I know why everyone says the Disney parks are amazing.

Glad you enjoyed Disneyland so much.

Nothing compares to a disney park in my view.

I can't wait for my trip back there next ear.

Then its off to Tokyo and then Paris, not in a rush for Disney World

  7. i remember back on the late 90's/early 00's I went to dream world and th mine carts were running and the tower of terror went forward and the cyclone was new and the ride queue was inside.

    Those were the good days.

They need to do something with the mine cart ride. I kind of think of it as Dream Worlds Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road.

I dont know why Australian theme parks dont think these kind of rides are worth investing in. Disney builds rides like this all over the world and they are extremely popular.

i still think that Disney should buy Dream world and convert it into a Disneyland.

You already have a river with a boat, you already have train tracks, you already have a frontier land, you have tonnes of land around to expand into and you can take all the themepark business in the goldcoast for yourself. nock down all the buildings and build a castle and a main street put mickey mouse in there and say hello to at least 5 million visitors a year.

  8. Having visited Europa last year I can say that yes - it does indeed deserve its spot on the list. It's a stunning park with a great array of rides, great food and nice theming. It's the best theme park I've been to, though I've never visited a Disney park. Having visited Alton Towers in 2012 I can say that (at least in my opinion) it's really not as good as it looks. I honestly found Thorpe Park to be much nicer. And I can't really say anything of Canada's Wonderland though, but it does look like one of the nicer Cedar Fair parks.

Ohhhhh you have to do yourself a favour and get out to Disneyland. The theming is beyond anything else I have experienced. And it's so clean and not to mention the beauty of the gardens
  9. I'm going back in April 2015 and will be going for 4 days. From what I've been told by people on MiceChat it's the perfect amount of time to see everything. Will be in park Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday. If you travel right at the end of peak season (mid August) all the shows will still run mid week

  10. Hi all. Last time I went to sea works I think I only spent 3 or 4 hours there. Going to fly into Gold Coast on March 20 (Thursday). Was thinking of going to sea world the day I fly in say at 12. Do you think this is enough time to see a few animals ride jet rescue and storm coaster and see the dolphin show?
