sea world now has three rollercoasters . there's no need for a forth
-
both sea world and movie world need a new dark ride .
but we will be lucky to even get one sadly . dam i miss the 1990's gold coast theme parks
-
anything that's not a rollercoaster ( the gold coast has enoth dam rollercoasters)
some flat rides yes but what i would like to see is a new dark ride
-
funny thing is from 1981 till around 1992 just before they built the wipe out there use to be a building around that area that held giltrap's auto museum . so along with modal t lane and the go cart track that once was under the thunderbolt dreamworld once had a motoring - raceing theme in its early days
-
sad thing is we all know they don't have the budget to do any of these things
-
while i know its never going to happen what they need to do is right there infront of them . replace the looney tunes river ride with a brand new well themed looney tunes dark ride . im sure they don't have the budget to do so tho
-
Totally agree. Any more DC themed rides and they might as well go ahead and rename the park Superhero World instead of Movieworld ? Fingers crossed that common sense prevails and they come up with something new and fresh ?
-
lets hope its not another roller coaster or attraction themed to DC UNIVERSE
-
i don't see why there going to base a new attraction on v8 supercars when they have no real long term future
the holden vs ford days are over and alot of people have very little interest

was just pointing out that the time frame since the shop was a cartoon network shop was longer then 5 years not meaning to upset anyone
Cartoon network hasn't been affiliated with SW for about 5 years.
The Nickelodeon store is just after the main jet ski lakeI know that, last time i was there prior to last year was 2006. Back when CNCB was still there, so that's what im basing it off.

the kids area opened in 1999 as cartoon network cartoon beach.
it was re themed to sesame street beach in 2007 and then again re themed to beach break bay in 2012

a new well themed family dark ride on the former seaviper site to replace the bermuda triangle would be a good step
but you are right theres not much point takeing your younger kids to seaworld from now untill the september school holidays when the new kids area opens.
not alot to keep younger kids happy right now
-
It's a sorely needed revamp for that whole area... but i can't help but wonder what the park can actually offer right now to earn their single-day ticket price...

the shop beside the carousel is now also gone

ok i had not read that the conditions on the park had changed im sorry but im still willing to think there will never be any plans for another big dipper - coaster
-
LPS was taken to court by the neighbours of the park in 1996 due to the noise the big dipper made witch lead to the park been closed down.
when the park was given permission to reopen one of the conditions was that the big dipper be removed from the park.
i have never heard anything about tho's conditions been changed or there ever been any plans for a new coaster at LPS
-
I've been calculating recently how much the prices of several coasters are worth in today's money.
Cyclone (when installed at LPS)
7 million in 1995- 11.9 million today (nearly the same cost as Abyss)
Thunderbolt
3.3 million in 1982- 10.8 million today
Sea Viper
2 million in 1982- 6.6 million today
Does someone really think that LPS will invest $12 million into their next coaster? I don't think so.
LPS will never have another coaster. the BIG DIPPER was removed becouse it made to much noise
-
anyone with me in thinking the cheap priceing of the vip pass lead to the closure of the bermuda triangle and looney tunes river ride and what looks like a move away from family dark rides
due to the lower revenues to maintain them
-
yes both movie world and dreamworld were so much better in the 1990's
-
I was there over the weekend and I could see several "Creatures of the Deep" taking shape where Dinosaur Island previously was. So that's not where Sea Viper was, unless it will be across both these areas (which in my opinion would be far too big for it).
Anyway where is the new kids area going to be?
the new kids area will be where the current one stands + some of the reclamed land beside
-
I don't think they need to do a nickelodeon retheme. I like the theme they have got and the minor message that some rides put through (rubbish in the ocean).
fair enoth just thort it would be cool since thay have the nickelodeon licence and have used the nickelodeon licence in the kids area at wet and wild sydney i had never taken notice of that theme the kids area has now my bad
-
From the photos I've seen I can't fully tell the full area of land it will take up. I think it would be good if the attraction incorporated part of the streams/lakes water for some of the creatures. Unless the reclaimed land is just being used as a storage area at this stage, I'm imagining that the attraction will take up this area:
I am hoping that the area in the blue will be used for an extension for the kids area. I think a kids coaster would be great addition.
I agree with you Zanstabar, I too am excited for this and will be a great addition to the park.
a extention and nickelodeon retheme to the kids area would be cool ?
-
i think the days of doing things in house are over becouse theres no longer parts made in austraila to build and maintain the ride
-
for me it the over all feel of the parks changed when thay closed the dark rides
Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space

if only seaworld had put some forward thinking into this and removed the sea viper and replaced it with the storm coaster .
and then replaced the Bermuda Triangle with a new dark ride . instead of just useing the bermuda site because it was the best space they had in the park at the time .
