  1. Dreamworld General Manager Life Sciences, Al Mucci says, “The new quieter engine has been a welcome change for the harmony of our animals as the railway runs through the Australian Wildlife Experience.” All aboard to come and try the new Dreamworld Railway…

There is only one ride so loud it can be heard in the AWE and it is not the train...

  2. The vintage cars and train are closed for "maintenance" on weekdays. The Log Ride, Thunder River Rapids and Giant Drop close at 4pm. Some rides will open at 11am. Last time when I went off peak Giant Drop had the longest wait, everytime I went on TOT2 I ended up in the last room and Cyclone only had 2 people in line (0 on my visit last Sunday). You should get lots of rides in it's very quiet on weekdays. :)

  3. If you're going Monday be advised that some rides close at 4pm (and open after 11am). These include Log Ride and Thunder River Rapids. Check the ride entry for details. I went last Sunday and found the Cyclone and Buzzsaw to be very unpopular and both had a short wait time. Buzzsaw is ok but Cyclone was quite boring. I did enjoy the 3D movie - worth checking out. You should get a lot of rides in as not many people visit on a off peak weekday.

  4. I say MW. Kids of all ages can enjoy the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster, plenty of shows and good tasting food. DW is a bit out-dated but still can be enjoyable but I recommend to bring your own lunch. On my visit last Sunday I had some Krispy Cream donuts for lunch since they were not made in park. On my visits in November and Feb the food was foul at DW.

  5. At this time the ride is a concept only

The Doomsday tower is a possible new attraction for Movie World This world-first ride would be built at Warner Bros. Movie World and would be the world’s tallest ride tower with a height of 145m. This ride experience would feature a low speed setting perfect for those who want to get a bird’s eye view of the Gold Coast. The ride would also feature a high speed setting to get hearts racing for thrill seekers. On the low speed setting, the ride would travel slowly up and down the tower and then rotate slowly at the top of the tower, while on the high speed setting it would zoom to the top of the tower then spin at a high speed. Riders would be seated in one of three gondolas which each feature twelve seats. Riders sit in individual seats where their legs hang free and they are secured by a chest harness. A height restriction of 110cm would apply for safety reasons. During the day the ride would operate in both “scenic” mode and “thrill seeker” mode at pre-designated times.

Source Future of Fun. It seems like the tower will be taller then the one at Dreamworld but with a low speed setting non thrill seekers will be able to enjoy the great view of the Gold Coast. I think this may be an eye saw though...

  6. So as someone who has no clue about these things, is this a "maze maze" like in books and what i believe Arkham was, or like at Universal and SRES and Ekka where its just A to B?

It's pretty much A-B not really a maze. Our group took the wrong turn once but we quickly found the way (the zombie that was in the room just stood their pointing us in the right direction).

  7. I noticed that they have a few trains in storage. Even the old green one seen in the Young Talent Time special. The trains did close early today. I boarded at the Wildlife Experence station at around 4.05 and we were told to get off at Main Street. Then train then went backwards to the shed. I think the Train should continue to operate till 5pm.

  8. I was at Dreamworld today and went on the new attraction. It is a walk through scare maze. You need to hold on to the person in front of you in a sort of conga line which can make it a bit slower to walkthrough the attraction ( it can be hard work pulling 5 people behind you), plus you don't really want to hold on to the shoulder of a complete stranger :o.

There are zombies around that jump out and scream at you but they don't touch you (unless you touch them). I didn't find the zombies scary at all ( since I know there is no such thing as zombies). We did get lost and a zombie just stood there pointing us in the right direction. The attraction is well themed and is worth a visit. Pass holders can get early access tomorrow. The Evilution officially opens Friday the 13th September. Enter if you dare!!!

  9. Is it because the lockers produce more profit than purchases from the gift shop? That way, they don't really care that your wallet is in the locker? Is the reason to simply make money?

Wouldn't they make more money if you were actually able to buy things at the gift shop? I seriously don't get the fact that you can not bring any loose items into the ride yet they still try to exit you in the shop. How are you supposed to buy things if you need to exit the store and re-enter it later. Makes it hard to get ride photos since you need to remember your number. I also don't like how slow it is to hire a locker. It would be better if you scan a wristband / VIP pass to open the locker.

  10. That app testing day was great. I wasn't able to download the app on my phone but it also won't download on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. At least the staff were cool with it and I wasn't the only one who couldn't download. It was great to finally here some audio on Green Lantern but Scooby Doo's axe was broken as well as many of the lighting effects. Plus I got to dine a Ricks for the first time ever for free!

  11. Train staff to load ALL rides at the parks faster, it can be done

I agree. At times they don't even get the next group ready behind the door / gate after the train left.

Fix GL LED's and audio, some people still seem to have trouble on it

Herd some audio for the first time today

Digital boards outside of all rides with wait times

    Good idea

Second Batwing tower, help capacity in Summer and one can always be open while the other is in rehab

Bad idea. One is enough. 2 would look ugly.

Fix the Scooby animatronics they are looking a little worse for wear and in need of some TLC

The axes weren't working today :(

Lift the volume in the main room it sounded really turned down and lift the smoke

    I agree.

Fix the lasers and rope lights, most weren't working or appeared to be struggling

Not many lasers today. Only about 1, 2 at the most. It was VERY dark.

Fix some animatronics in the Ghost Town, not all were working such as the tombstone and some of the screens, such as the one before the backwards drop was out

"Boot Hill" has been broken for a long time. It would be nice if it was back how it originally was.

Put a new full on show at the Stage Show

A new western show would be nice.

Don't leave the icicle lights over Main Street for the entire year

What icicle lights? I didn't see any.

    Replace the LTRR

    Replacement opening in September.

Build a state of the art rapids ride

Dreamworld has a rapids ride. I think it's best if the Gold Coast parks all have different rides.

    Build a Wooden coaster

One would fit in the western area but Dreamworld's Gold Rush Country / Rocky Hollow area will be best for a woody. (They need better coasters anyway)

Include drinks into the meal prices and not everyone wants a double burger, just make a simple single burger

Too right. I don't like the "Prime Burger" range. When I go tho a themepark I only want a single patty burger.

Build a hotel and City Walk style attraction connecting MW and WnW together

They have "Sea World Resort". Maybe Dreamworld should build accommodation since they are Australia's largest theme park. It's best the Movie World and Wet n Wild stay apart. There are always bus transfers between the parks during the day.
